We really liked the room we got. It had plenty of space, especially for a hotel room in London. The hotel is super well located, and has a cool vibe to it. The only thing we didn't like, was that the room had a funky/fishy smell to it, especially as we entered the room.

Winning the battle but losing the war...

My review of the Trafalgar St. James London will be presented in two parts – a review of the hotel itself, and a review of the hotel organization. The dates of our visit are relevant as well: March 13, 2020 – March 16, 2020 (the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic reaching the UK). Hotel Review: A- We booked our stay for March 2020 at the this hotel to celebrate my mother’s 75th birthday (and her first visit to London) primarily due to its incredible location. The hotel itself is well updated and clean with modern décor. As many other guests have pointed out, the Rooftop Bar has an amazing view of London. From top to bottom, the hotel staff was great and made every effort to be responsive to our requests. Hotel Organization Review: D- We had to end our stay at the hotel earlier than planned due to the rapidly developing COVID-19 situation in London. With my mother being in a “high risk” category, I felt it was in our best interest to return home. Upon returning to the U.S., the Hotels.com Gold Member customer service requested a refund on my behalf. Unfortunately, this request was denied by the hotel as their “refund policy does not allow one in this case” as Eniko from Reservations stated it. If the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t qualify as a legitimate “case”, I’m not sure what ever would?! Regardless, this is sadly an example of an organization winning the battle but losing the war – and for this, my family will not be staying at any Curio Collection by Hilton hotels again

Clean, quiet, felt safe, within walking distance of several attractions, London Tube across the street (subway), several bus stops just outside of hotel, professional and friendly staff, room stocked with free soft drinks, water, chocolate, tea with kettle, coffee pod machine with cappuccino and espresso, robes and slippers, hair dryer, safe, plenty of plugs and USB ports for charging your accessories, spacious shower (but no bathtub), concierge called us the day before checkout to see if we needed accommodations to the airport (which we did and they arranged for us), would definitely stay here again
