Les chambres confortables et bien équipées. ##### Voyageur vérifié ### 4/10 – Médiocre #### Laurence 23 sept. 2016 Points faibles : Confort de la chambre #### Pas recommandé L'appartement est correct, mais avec peu de rangements. Mais surtout, c'est le bruit qui me fait donner une mauvaise note: les murs sont en papier, on entend tout, je dis bien tout, ce que font les voisins des autres chambres, et on imagine que c'est réciproque, ce qui est très inhibiteur. De plus, l'hôtel donne sur une autoroute, avec beaucoup de passage de véhicules avec sirènes : c'est vraiment très bruyant, et mal isolé. Le ménage est fait tous les jours, mais de façon très aléatoire: tout n'est pas refourni automatiquement, et même quand ils sont changés, il n'est pas rare que les nouveaux draps soient tâchés. Le personnel est pour la plupart issu des pays de l'Est et parle mal l'anglais: difficile de communiquer lorsqu'il y a un problème. Enfin, la station de métro à côté de l'hôtel n'est ouverte que le week-end, il faut aimer et pouvoir marcher pour rejoindre les autres stations. Mais il y a des lignes de bus beaucoup plus proches heureusement. Clean and confortable room, with everything you need (plates, bowls, glasses cutlery, kettle, toaster, microwave, small hob and extractor fan, good size fridge, frying pans and utensils, safety deposit box, iron and board) Staff are friendly and very helpful. C'était très pénible. Vu le prix de la chambre, ce n'était pas normal. Nous avons demandé à changer le lendemain : pas de problème, on nous a donné une plus petite chambre, mais donnant sur jardin, donc pas de bruit. Le seul bémol : le lendemain, pas d'électricité, donc pas possibilité de faire chauffer de l'eau pour le café, et la salle de bains était dans le noir. Ce n'était pas le fait de l'hôtel, mais d'un feu dans la rue. Cependant, nous avons trouvé que cet hôtel n'était pas si mal. Bonne literie et bons oreillers. Dommage, les travaux que nécessiteraient cet hôtel sont des travaux de maintenance classique. There is a small fully equiped kitchenette which is very practical as well. The location is very good if you are going to Olympia and/or the neighborhoods. Well desserve by bus and tube. There is nothing to say about the service as I have not talked to any staff of the hotel during my stay. Minuses: there was a big wall facing the windows so one cannot see anything but this wall and a piece of clouds if looking up. In between the windows and the wall there is a gutter full of cigarettes butts and other things, this could be cleaned... I could clearly hear the child from the room next door in the evening and the mornings. The minuses are nothing big, I would certainly return to the place if I need a hotel in that area. ##### F.B. L'équipement de l'espace cuisine est rudimentaire: 2 verres pour 3 (on l'a pourtant signalé à l'accueil), pas d'ustensiles de cuisine,....pas de table pour manger, la salle de bain est minuscule: pas d'étagère pour poser son nécessaire de toilette. La chambre est peu isolée (on sentait le froid passer par les fenêtres). Manque des clapets anti-retour dans la plomberie : il faut attendre longtemps que l'eau froide ne soit plus chaude. Même les WC chassent à l'eau chaude. The kitchenette allowed me to economize on meals and also get an early start or arrive back in the evening to work while I ate. Kensington Studios is right around the block from the Olympia overground train station (one quick stop away from the Central line) and, alternatively a 15-20 minute walk to underground stations in Kensington. There are many convenience and grocery stores in the area (including a Whole Foods), restaurants and take-out food, charming neighborhoods and Holland Park for strolls, and nearby small museums, as well as easy access to greater London. The hotel staff was friendly and immediately responded to questions and requests. My room was modern in design, more spacious than I expected, had ample storage, the best shower I've had in a London hotel, a laptop-sized work desk, and a comfortable bed. The area is quiet but safe, quite convenient to overground, recommended to buy a day-pass so that overground and underground can be interchangeable for better travel arrangement. No regular reception beyond office hours but actually this is connected to the hotel just opposite, and we left the luggages in opposite hotel and got back few days afterwards, quite convenient.
