You want cheap, you get cheap.
I knew that I was not going get the best accommodation for the price but at least I expected clean and presentable. Some areas in the cottage were not cleaned recently, there was water damage right next to a light switch in the hall. Marks on the curtains in the room. And there was definitely not sound-proof as advertised. The positives of my stay: The toilet flushed and there was toilet paper and handwash.

The kitchen was nice and clean. Too much Borge up works. Environment all around very dirty including toilet and bath. Not what it looks on the internet. Small car park for only 3 vehicles. Place is run down.

Good for the money
Not a bad little single room, but right next door to the communal wc & kitchen, so was very noisy. But the room was clean, fresh towels & bed sheets bi-daily, I had to turn the two big radiators off as the room was like a sauna. Staff were very friendly but not fluent in English. But no massive complaints for the price of the room.

This place needs to be out of the Hotel.com ASP
This was the most terrible place i tried spend the night. People smoking, talking, laugh and shouting. People go in and out al night for another business.... even children was sitting in the kitchen lough at middle the night.

The house was filthy and there was nobody there to let us into our room. The shared kitchen and bathrooms were also filthy and I'm pretty sure there were people living in the garage. The rooms weren't secure and the bed unmade. I didn't feel safe staying there with my wife so we left immediately and found a hotel elsewhere. This place shouldnt be on a booking website

Worse place I have ever stayed in.
I couldn't check in. They said the room was not cooked even though i have a reference number on a screenshot. The room was open and allowed in to the building by another guest. The room was filthy, flies and ants everywhere. The whole place was disgusting. The staff on the phone was an absolute clueless moron. I gave him the details of the booking three times on the phone and he still kept asking me details over and over. He said he would call me back but never did. He stopped picking the phone up. It was late at night after a long time and he told me to company to whoever I like.

We just needed a bolt hole to park the car and sleep while in London. This was cheap and although I had read bad reviews I thought worth a go. The communal kitchen were in a mess but I didn't need to use it in our stay so let it go. There was no one there to greet us, so the lady on the phone said she would check us in over the phone. Told us to walk into a room that had the door ajar and that the key was on the table. Great, easy. Well apart from the bed still looking like it was left by the previous tenant's and had left in a hurry. There was an ashtray full of but ends, the bin was over flowing and there was a used plate of food on the table next to the key. We left immediately, wasn't going to let it ruin our plans. Yes it's cheap but we managed to find another place only 10 minutes drive from here, much better. Don't stay here.

To be honest with you, the place is not suitable for people to stay. It just needs refurbishment, and have someone to clean the place. When we arrived there was a guy standing behind the building which looks like a guarage and kept hiding between that bulding and a hedge using his 2 mobile phones. My husband asked him if we had parked on right place and he just answered by saying yeah, and said ' no Englush' meant can't speak English, just directed us to the room and gave us the keys no communication. The bed not even made, there was a duvet folded and put at the end of the bed. There is a metal coart hanging thing on wall, no wardrobe which is not a problem they could just get hangers for people to use. No one welcomes you and show you where the bathroom is and where you can make yourself a drink, but because of language barrier they just keep away from people. I cannot explain what's like unless someone have been at that place. We had to ask for towels, no towels in bathroom, no soap, no toilet paper, we had to go to the shops to get toilet paper. There is a guy who is English but don't seem to have anything to do with the place the way I saw it. I could tell that they don't clean the place because I saw a plastic fork under our bed, there is a tall lamp Full of dust on the stand base, bathroom not cleaned, good job they don't do breakfast because you couldn't eat anything from a place like that.

Would absolutely not recommend this hotel! It’s run down, the conditions worse than a youth hostel. Check-in & Check out process basically non existent. There were not any clear procedures.

The cottage had been booked by a company it was packed couldn’t get in the kitchen they were all having hair and makeup done and at 2 am they had a party we couldn’t stay there with the noise and banging so we drove home in the dead of night have phoned uk .hotels for a refund I hope you do the right thing and give us a refund what we asked for

The room was essentially a hovel, it was more like student digs than a guest house. The bed was really uncomfortable. At one point when a family arrived to stay at the 'Cottages' there had been no-one there to greet them. One of the shower' s in one of the bathrooms flooded the floor, there had been often remnance of let faeces in the toilet pan by the previous user. Towels all over the bathroom floor, kids running a muck up and down the stairs....need I go on?. Indeed I myself should be paid to stay there as all in all it was an awful experience.

Unprofessional organisation.
This hotel took my booking online, when I turned up an hour later there was no one to receive me at the door. When later this was challenged their excuse was the card didn't go through when clearly I had the payment confirmation hence I used the same card to book an alternative accommodation. To sum it all up I've been very disappointed with this experience it's cost me time and unnecessary taxi fares.

Stayed only for 2 nights. For how much you pay you cant go wrong. Shared bathrooms- although one of them is like being in a 5* hotel. If you like to take selfies in a bathroom mirror, this is defo the hotel for you. TV in the room could be a bit bigger but for £35 a night I'm not going to moan. Will be coming back.

Nice hotel just very noisey
Hotel room was basic but very nice. There was no staff in the hotel other than the day we arrived. The hotel was very noisey other guests were very loud and children running around. Parking was a nightmare and no good for any vans bigger than a car size.

Think twice !!!
Couldn't park upon arrival as there is hardly any available - even though parking is advertised. The place itself is more of a halfway house than a guest house. On the first night someone's car was blocked in which led to a phone call in the early hours to ask me if it was my vehicle - if only - there isn't room for a smart car never mind a decent sized van !! The blocked in car then proceded to press the horn on and off for the next half an hour whilst a women knocked on residents doors to find the culprit !! Needless to say we were not impressed. On the second night the floor layer (yes the floors were being ripped up and relayed whilst we were there) was still working and hammering at 8pm right outside of our bedroom door. Rooms are really basic with beds, TV & side table - no wardrobe ! One of the shared bathrooms was ok but the other was grim. Think twice and spend a little more folks !!

Simple & Welcoming
The member of staff was very welcoming and helpful with pointing out local places to eat. A nice simple hotel for a quick stop over in Woodford. The only shame is that the other guests were not respectful, slamming doors till 2am and talking/drinking in the garden which happened to be outside my window. Suprsingly with the location in the main road, the traffic played no part in the disturbance. The facilities were lovely (though the shower door needs fixing) and little issue with getting to use the bathroom as their were 3 shared between the guests betweeb 2 floors. Helpful that a kitchen was available so I could have prepared my own meals and I would have liked to know about this feature in the description

Ideal spot, lovely old cottage.
A great spot, good room, in an ideal location with a very price. It would have been useful if there had been a couple of chairs and a small table in the room. The noise from Chigwell Manor Road was unfortunate and secondary internal glazing might be helpful.

A nice safe location.
The staff are very friendly and polite, and the location is safe, situated just down the road from some rather extravagant mansions and is right across to an open field and pond filled with ducks, which is quite the view. The road is busy so light sleepers may find difficulty resting if their room is located on the north side. Overall I would return as the cost was reasonable and it fulfilled all my needs which were simply a roof over my head and a nights sleep for work the next day.

When we got there someone had messes up the booking so we had to pay an extra £10 to swap rooms but that was for only one night we went out for the day and came back to I have to give u the room that you were ment to get first of all but that wasn't the problem it was the fact that he had gone into the other room and moved all the stuff which is not acceptable to move our stuff without our permission then on our last day there bare in mind we were only staying to 3 night they then messed up the time when we could check out it says on their website check out 11 pm which we thought we could still get a full day before our friends have to go back home but that was wrong and we got kicked out at 11:30am
