In the heart of London, this spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home boasts soaring ceilings and an atmosphere that’s equal parts vibrant and serene. By day, soak up the city’s energy through tall windows that flood the open kitchen and dining area with natural light. By night, escape to the mezzanine level, perfect for curling up on the sofa or tackling work. It’s the best of both worlds: city buzz meets peaceful retreat The Space: People can often be daunted when it comes to incorporating colour into interior design, but this Paddington apartment owns it. Its a colour palette that delights. The different coloured furnishings in the TV room and bedrooms are uplifting and complement the wood of the floors and dining table. The addition of high arched windows accentuate the plentiful amount of natural light that comes in through the large windows. The kitchen has plenty of sleek surface space for preparing home-cooked dinners, while the bathrooms play it comparatively safer with the dazzlingly white tiles. The fact that we've got this far without mentioning the home's incredible location is a testament to the quality of the interior. The centre of Paddington and a ten minutes' walk, to Hyde Park or 20 minute walk to Notting Hill or Marylebone. Getting Around: You are Opposite Paddington station with access to and array of buses and tube lines. Transport central :) Other Things to Note: The apartment is on the first floor and you are required to climb 2 flights of stairs. There is no elevator. Right next to paddington station on a quiet street, all parts of the city are accessible via public transit. Website pictures are true to form and the property manager was very attentive. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.One note on accessibility - the entry stairs are a bit narrow and steep but this is typical of walk up flats in older European cities. Someone has great (and fun) taste. The proximity to the Paddington station means whatever you want to do is extremely accessible. We arrived prior to check-in time (as most Americans do) and the cleaner of the property was kind enough to let us store our bags while we got a coffee. Of course, you are always fairly close to transportation in London. But, we had plans for Bath Spa, so Paddington was the perfect location for our itinerary. Everything about the apartment was accurately described in the listing. The only thing omitted was the noise you will experience from construction outside if you plan to sleep in. We didn't care about sleeping in, so not a bother at all. However, our neighbor above had other plans between midnight and 4 AM most evenings, which was annoying. We understand older apartments have this, and most tune it out. I would suggest earplugs. The other annoyance was the beaming green light from the aircon in the master bedroom. Bring eye masks, or you will feel like the Terminator stares at you all night. I didn't want to write this review until we could stay in other Paris, Venice, and Florence properties. Areas of improvement could be spent on little things like the knobs on the master bedroom drawer that fell off and replacing the artwork on the bedroom wall. This is nitpicking, but when you spend your money on this apartment, you expect not to find such things. Again, this is nitpicking—one last thing of note. I got the sense I was being a bother with the constant exclamation points at the end of sentences when asking about the possibility of an early check-in. We were not told until the day we arrived we could check in a little early. ##### Ron H. We rented this apartment for a girls weekend in London and it was wonderful! This apartment is very clean and spacious. It is right next to Paddington station and within walking distance of many places that tourists may want to visit. The landlord responded quickly to our questions and addressed the minor issues we had with the place (getting the AC to work). I would highly recommend this rental and would definitely stay there again! There is some construction work happening on the building next door which was heard from one bedroom but not the other.
