Nice walk or cycle path along Tobacco Dock canal leading to King Edward VII Park, Narrow Street and then Canary Wharf. Getting around Nearest tube and DLR station is Tower Hill, about 7 min walk. District and Circle Lines take you to the West End rapidly (Westminster, Embankment) and DLR to Canary Wharf. Bus #100 outside the building, bringing you directly to Liverpool Street and St Pauls. Santander Cycle Hire Station Dock at Waitrose or 100m away. Saint Katharine s Pier River Boats take you to London Eye Millennium Pier (the big wheel) and Westminster Millennium Pier to the West. Parking Space There is an underground car park - City Quay Car Park - 50m walk from the building entrance, check details on their website. It is very clean, quiet and comfortable, and a peaceful place to return to after a day of sightseeing. The great views are just as shown in the photos, and the small deck is a great place to take it in from. It's a short, pedestrian-only walk to the Tower Hill Underground station, which gets you to most anywhere in London, plus it is only a 5-10 minute walk to Tower Bridge. It's located in a safe neighborhood and there is a huge Waitrose supermarket just across the street that sells a variety of take-away food. We would love to stay here again. ##### David W. We are so happy we rented David’s apartment for three nights. A great way to end a trip. We splurged for the two of us and went for the one-bedroom which has more space. Everything that one could need was provided. The bed was really comfortable. The linens were nice. The water was hot. There is no AC but we just missed the heat wave and there were some fans there so not an issue for us. There is a great breeze from the docks with the windows open. We don’t care about a TV, we’re in LONDON! As some reviews mention, it is a bit older, but it is well cared for and immediately felt like a home, more assessable than some of the high end places we had rented previously. David is great communicator and very helpful with suggestions. He was in constant communication with us as our time to check in neared. There were a lot of little end tables around, something other places tend to lack. The Waitrose (supermarket) right across the street was great as one splurges on lodging with a kitchen, good to use the kitchen! The location on the docks was sublime. Had to rouse the hubby off the balcony as he just wanted to sit and look at the water and the boats and our great view of The Shard with Tower Bridge in the foreground. It was great to be able to walk outside our door, down the steps and be on the docks. We had a great time exploring the east end of London and this area of the Thames. The flat is well equipped with everything you may need whilst on holiday. It was clean (except for the balcony floor which was very dirty) but is quite tired and well worn. The wi fi worked well, the TV was tiny and the taps in the bath leaked constantly. David the owner was very efficient and pleasant to deal with and responded very quickly when we had a problem with the heating and had a plumber call in to check and order new taps for the bath. We really enjoyed our stay in the flat and being able to walk along the Thames, around the docks, shops, pubs and markets nearby made us feel like real locals. Ci tornerei anche domani! L'appartamento di David si trova in una zona di Londra che non conoscevo ancora. La vista sui St. Katharine Docks è splendida. Silenziosissimo, a pochi passi dal Tower Bridge, Da Tower Hill e dalla relativa fermata della metro (Circle e District Line) comodissima per qualsiasi destinazione vogliate raggiungere. Se amate camminare, le passeggiate pedonali lungo il Tamigi sono fantastiche. Vicino all'appartamento, veramente dotato di tutto e arredato in modo molto pratico e funzionale, ci sono bar e locali anche a buon mercato. In più, di fronte all'ingresso principale del complesso, si trova un grande supermarket Waitrose, aperto dalle 8 alle 22 (la domenica chiude alle 17). Qui potete trovare cibi freschi e anche cotti o semicotti, spaziando nelle varie cucine etniche. David si è fatto trovare al nostro arrivo per la consegna delle chiavi e per darci ogni indicazione. Se potessi, ritornerei già domani. Noi eravamo in due ma ci sono due comodi letti in soggiorno e quindi si può andare in 4 comodi. Lo raccomando vivamente.
