5 star dinner and location, 3 star other
The main interest in this hotel is of course location.... It does not disappoint. The French restaurant is equally stellar! True 4 star dining and 5+ star wait staff at the restaurant.
As for the hotel....
The check in was a free for all. They require your passport, your email, and phone number. The young man behind the counter had clearly been taught a pre-rehearsed speech for Americans about it being their federal law and how they don't sell our info. I guess they assume that is your only hotel in England. It was our fourth, and none required more than the passport.
Next, my pregnant wife and I had to attend to our own baggage to the rather distant room. Not the end of the world, but just to note for others.
The room was great! Good coffee and tea, great quality bedding and sheet, good tv arraignment and lounge and lots of plugs to charge everything up.
There is no usable plug by the bed in case you use your phone as your alarm. Also, there is no to sheet (as in many European hotels). There is a bottom sheet and a super comfy duvet as your top sheet. Lastly, no hair dryer.
