Avoid this hotel

Posted 22-Aug-2015
Tiny rooms overlooking alleyway. Garbage trucks wake you up in the morning. Room walls were dirty and shades for windows were destroyed. Asked staff 2x to change sheets. They never did. Expedia should not allow this hotel on its website. What a shame.

I did not stay at that Hotel

Posted 21-Aug-2015
They said they have no place and transferred me to another Hotel by a Taxi on their own cost and offered me a complementary breakfast. The Hotel they transferred me to is labelled as 4 stars, for me it is only equal to 2.5 stars

Check-in was welcoming and friendly, staff is helpful, but most rooms are old, walls look used and dirty. Breakfast and Bar very nice.

Pros: It has a lovely atmosphere in the lobby and breakfast rooms.
Cons: Cleanliness could be better and floorboards are squeaky.
Location: Close to the underground station.
I had read the reviews that the rooms were small but could not imagine them being that small! We first got a very small room on the ground floor and when we asked to change the staff was helpful and we got a slightly bygger on the fifth floor. A pleasant stay overall.

Grand Royale Hyde Park

Posted 30-Jul-2015
Pros: Location. Beautiful entrance/lobby.
Location: Right near Bayswater Tube station. Almost adjacent to Hyde Park. Plenty of inexpensive eateries around.
Beautiful lobby and lounge area. Pleasant, helpful staff. Extremely tiny and cramped rooms, but that's probably to be expected in central London. The location, right beside Hyde Park, is hard to beat. Unfortunately, during our stay, room keys did not function and a staff member was required to open the door every time; quite an inconvenience. Quite a few customers complaining at the desk over other issues, such as slow luggage handling, hinted at more systemic problems.

Beautifully restored historical hotel

Posted 24-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, atmosphere, friendly staff.
Cons: Narrow, steep stairs were not easy to navigate. It would have been helpful to be shown where the lift was located if needed.
Location: Close walk to Kensington Palace and park. Wonderful tea at the Orangary next to the Palace was quite reasonably priced.
This lovely building was once home to Lillie Langtry and the character has been preserved in the public rooms. The bedroom was a bit cozy(i.e. small) but not unusual for a building of this era. The location close to Kensington Park, tube stations and shops was great.

Beautiful, but small rooms

Posted 24-Jul-2015
This hotel was beautiful and ornate, the staff was great and the room seemed very clean. However, it was very tight, the room is basically big enough for the bed and nightstands. The bathroom was tiny too.

Ottima posizione, ma caro

Posted 17-Jul-2015
Cons: Aggiungere i frigobar
