First up, the room was clean, it was quiet and the food at breakfast was good and service was efficient.
However, reception was a little unfriendly with a big perspex screen, lots of forms and much more scrutiny of ID than other hotels. We had to fill a form in for breakfast on arrival, and the choices were quite bizarre. You could choose bacon and sausage but were then unable to choose hash brown, you could choose tomato or beans but not both, and when the breakfast came it was one sausage and one rasher of bacon. Honestly, just charge £2-£3 per person per night more and give a full choice and more generous portions.
The hotel is like a rabbit warren, up and down stairs round corners which is quite characterful, but a little tricky to get back to reception.
The room was smelly on entry, not sure what it was.
The shower was poor, very little pressure and the temperature fluctuated wildly.
This hotel will not be high on my list to go back to again.
