(790 reviews) On the plus side: It's a charming hotel located in a wonderful part of the city. All of the staff I dealt with were courteous and, in a couple of cases, very helpful. The rooms were, overall, nicely appointed (some rough edges notwithstanding). The rooftop terrace was inviting. And the extra-cost full breakfasts that I was fortunate enough to have included in my reservation were delicious. On the minus side: It was noisy (strong thumps and reverberations every time the pump that fills the rooftop cistern shut off; thumps and reverberations from heavy-footed guests overhead walking and moving stuff around; and loud, live, outdoor music from a nearby restaurant one night). And the winding metal staircases to the rooftop can be a little tricky. Despite a lack of sleep, I don't regret my stay because the positives were very positive. And while I wouldn't discourage anyone from staying here I would suggest that you try to get a room on a lower floor at the back of the hotel and hope that any guests above you aren't too noisy.
