The entire property is well manicured and very clean we really loved sitting outside watching the river go by and seeing the blue herons . After a crazy year, and too long away from our family it was just what the doctor ordered. While it was meant to spend some time with our Grandkids it also happened to be our anniversary the day we checked in. Ed had a chocolate cake and a bottle of red wine waiting for us upon our arrival. He also had a fire started, and answered any questions we had. This is a really nice property with LOTS of space. There are only a few cabins....so you literally have a couple acres around your cabin to yourself. It is a really peaceful setting perched along the river. I think one of the nicest things was how pretty much everything you could want is already provided on the grounds. Kayaks, Canoes, horseshoes, ping pong, floatees, cornhole, etc. Our Grandson especially liked the archery range! Our van was so packed with kids, dog, and luggage we didn't have room for fishing poles. Ed even brought us down a couple poles and some tackle to use so we could fish. Jun 27, 2021 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Tons to do - right on the river This is a lovely spot for a getaway. Everything is clean and well cared for, you have a cute cottage, lovely deck looking at the river, and everything you might want for activities. Beyond that, Ed is a great host and will really add to your stay. With the cottage: You enter into the main room. It has a bunk bed over a futon, a small table with a couple chairs, and the kitchen. There’s also a gas fireplace and TV with DVD (we didn’t try, but in a different season you might!). The kitchen has a stove, oven, small microwave, full fridge, and all the needed items. The main room also has stairs (steep but very solid) to a loft where several can sleep (our teenagers immediately opted for up there). Off the main room you also have the main bedroom and the bathroom with tub/shower. I wanted to share all this to be sure you can envision it. It’s not big - it’s cozy (and the loft will be fun for anyone who likes the ‘tiny house’ shows!) but with lots of options for a group of 4\. Outside, it reminded me of some of the best parts of going to camp — endless opportunities for activities. Some of them: canoeing, kayaking, fishing, crochet, archery, hitting golf balls, horseshoes, hammocks, play structures for small kids, volleyball net, football to toss…. And all of these are close at hand - just waiting for you to walk over and get started. Carry the kayak to the water, pick up a fishing pole, etc. You can have a great time and not bring anything extra with you. You also have a hot tub, gas grill, charcoal grill, and fire ring that are all yours. The deck is great - we ate multiple meals on the front deck watching the river. You should also keep an eye out for the wildlife - eagles, herons, deer, turtles, frogs, etc. The river is great - and there’s hardly anyone else on it. France Park which is nearby is supposed to be awesome - we actually never got there because the kids didn’t want to leave. We will have to try that at a return trip. Ed is a great host. He met us when we arrived - introduced the place and told us about the history of the area, which was very meaningful. We have stayed at several different VRBO properties with our families, and we have never experienced hospitality as great as Ed's! He welcomed us with a fire, homemade apple pie, and our favorite drinks in the fridge! He respected our privacy while still making sure we had everything that we needed. The property was BEAUTIFUL. Aug 31, 2017 #### It was an absolute pleasure staying here. The property is kind of tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and it was absolutely perfect. The grounds are well kept and clean as is the property inside itself. Ed is extremely hospitable and is always around if anything is the matter or needed. The fridge for example had some goodies in it and the pies he bakes are amazing! The town of Logansport is literally five minutes away if anything is needed and there is also France Park which has several attractions. There are a lot of things to do and things to see.
