"Pleasant stay at Hotel Torense."
As a woman and I was travelling and staying alone. The hotel staff especially the reception staff were great with their advice and help. Although I had hired a car at Pisa airport and drove to the hotel.I wanted to visit Florence the girls on reception advised me to go by train and they checked timetables for me on the internet and called a taxi to take me to the far as im concerned nothing was too much trouble. My room was small but had a lovely ensuite shower room and small verandah.the only downside was the a/c card.. and trying to get the electrcity to work to heat things like my electric rollers it was hit and miss and the lights all went out while in the shower but I rang reception with the help of my mobile phone light and Andreas sorted it out straight away.. The barrier to the car park was also hit and miss but again the staff sorted it as soon as they realized. Also the staff in the restauarant were polite and helpful,Even one of the owners set my sat nav when I was returning to the airport. I would go back in a heart beat...

"Nice Hotel on the beach"
The Rex was right on the beach, room included breakfast and beach chairs and umbrella table. Very nice for relaxing and swimming. The room was modern with nice shower and utilities. Balcony had a great view of the Mediterranean. The bar and restaurant had good food at a reasonable price. All the staff was helpful. The only problem was that we were away from other restaurants and activities.

"Lovely stay"
Good: nice seawater pool, private clean beach, excellent breakfast, kettle in room. Thermal pool was good. Not many children but ours were welcomed. Would recommend it Bad: reception staff unable to advise on local day trips, did not know much about local towns, you have to research yourself.

It was our second time to this hotel. The suite is really good, nice view, good shutters to make the room pitch black. Well located, decent breakfast included with delicious espresso coffe.

"Unbeatable spot but facilities can improve"
Let me begin by saying that the location is superb. That stretch of Tuscan beach is second to none in its beauty. The personnel is nice and discreet. There is a nice, large pool area and a charming spa. We didn't use the restaurants other than one morning for breakfast (very basic and frankly a bit disappointing). As for the resort: I went there in 1991 to visit my parents and I can honestly say that there have been no noticeable upgrades to the rooms. From the outside, the bungalows are still a rather ugly block of concrete that poses such a striking contrast with the beauty of the landscape. A simply climbing ivy covering the outside walls would make such a difference. I can't speak for the inside of the bungalows because we were in the hotel portion of the resort. The part that I found most annoying was the fact that they charge for internet, which I refused to use. At a time when the smallest coffee shop in a remote area provides free WIFI to its customers, Riva Degli Etruschi, an upscale resort, asked for 3 Euro per hour, or 10 Euro per day (not sure about the numbers). I find it totally ridiculous.

Park Hotel Marinetta

Via dei Cavalleggeri Nord, 3, Bibbona - Map
"The Caribbean in Tuscany"
We were in the chianti region the first week, and stayed at the Marinetta the second week of our vacation in Italy. My husband and I wanted a place by the beach and within a one hour drive of some sightseeing activities. This was perfect. One hour to Popolunia going south or one hour to Pisa going north. Beach and the two pools were clean and well maintained, washroom and showers by the beach for hotel guests. Buffet dinners were varied daily. I had a Tuscan fish stew at the The Ombra della Sera Restaurant (a la carte) that was one of the best meals I had during my 2 week vacation. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable, although the walls could do with some art work. The reason I gave the room a 3 not a 4-5 was that you could hear every step and noise from the adjacent rooms. The people occupying the adjacent rooms were early risers and were awake every morning by 6:00 am. We could hear them walking, talking, chairs scraping the floor and the water running. It was loud enough to wake us up. The front desk staff all spoke English but the rest of the staff spoke very little or no English at all (not a big deal since you are in Italy after all). This is a family hotel, so be prepared to eat dinner with small children around you even if you are in the The Ombra della Sera Restaurant. Overall we were very happy to have stayed there.

Park Hotel I Lecci

Via della Principessa, 116, San Vincenzo - Map
"Clean but the outside parts are the best...."
Hotel was clean. The colors inside were a bit boring. I wouldn't say the bed was really comfortable, but found most beds in Europe a bit too hard. The included breakfast was very good. The outside was the best part. It is a beautiful sandy beach, where I believe you could walk forever. I was there in the early off season, so it was a bit cool.
