This is a family friendly hotel. Beautiful grounds and lovely pool. Super busy breakfast buffet but lots of options. Bed was a bit hard for me but that’s just my personal preference. Easy walk to the town. Overall I had an excellent experience and I highly recommend!

This is a great spot to stay in a quiet part of Cascais yet very close to everything. It is a second time staying there. It worked perfectly for the last night or 2 in Portugal before flying out of Lisbon.

Review of Vila Gale Cascais - April 2024 Our stay at Vila Gale Cascais in April 2024 was a mixed experience, deserving a rating of seven out of ten. Here’s a summary of the positives and negatives: Pros: * Location: The hotel is conveniently located near the marina and shopping areas in a safe neighborhood. * Amenities and Services: The staff was welcoming, and free ample parking was a significant convenience. * Room and View: The room was beautifully decorated with an excellent view of the marina and pool area. Cons: * Room Security: The safe was broken, which made us hesitant to have our room cleaned as we couldn't secure our valuables. * Electricity Usage: The need to keep a key card in a slot to power the room was inconvenient, especially for charging devices. * Dining Experience: Both the Italian buffet dinner and breakfast were underwhelming. * Room Amenities: The absence of a coffee machine and ironing facilities was a minor inconvenience. We stayed here for 9 nights April 2024. Perfect location, walkable to many fun places nice restaurants, lots of attractions and even good 15-20 mins walk to downtown Cascais. Hotel itself was very clean,buffet breakfast was amazing, lots of options and best part was the very helpful staff. We stayed with our kids and they loved the Easter activities. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent 3 night stay
Beautiful hotel overlooking the sea in Cascais Portugal, lovely room lovely pool and a wonderful view from our comfortable balcony! Breakfast was good and drinks in the evening inexpensive for such a top class hotel! Ideally situated for convenience of the town, beaches and plenty of walking!

Worst beds ever?
Vila Gale is a tired hotel. I got “upgraded” to a junior suite, with a dark (mouldy smelling) bedroom and hallway - and a sitting area with sofas so filthy, none of us wanted to sit in them. Curtains and doors were in great need of cleaning also. Bedding was synthetic, and the pillows probably the worst I’ve ever experienced. But the most horrendous was the plastic mattress protector, which meant the bedsheet slid off, and sleeping on plastic is very unpleasant - your body cannot breathe, and the crackling noise with every movement was unsettling. Most unpleasant! However, the staff was friendly and helpful, the pool area was decent, and the breakfast buffet OK (though lukewarm water makes it difficult for teabags to dissolve properly). The hotel is conveniently located close to the excellent restaurants in the marina, and a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre, and does have lovely views from its seafacing balconies. But at that price one should have clean rooms and a decent bed with non-synthetic linen. I won’t recommend Vila Gale.

It’s a very handy hotel to stay in as everything is within walking distance and the views are lovely. The pool is very nice with lots of lounge chairs. Big buffet breakfast with lots of options. Our bedroom was on the 1st floor looking out on the car park which was disappointing so I would suggest asking for pool/sea view. It’s probably more expensive but would be worth it as it would make a big difference to your stay. Beds are comfy but pillows aren’t great. There is a small fridge in the room which is very handy. Only basic shampoo& shower gel combined so bring your own. We enjoyed our stay but definitely feel the location of our room made a difference to to our recommendation so it felt more 3 star than 4 star for us. We would stay again but would request the pool/sea view
