This is a completely renovated apartment, with one bedroom with a double bed, an ensuite bathroom with shower, a complete kitchenette, a living/dining room, free >100 Mbps Wi-Fi Internet and fiber TV. All rooms have windows and the living room has a balcony.



The apartment is located in the heart of Lisbon between Bairro Alto and Principe Real, a privileged location in the historic city centre close to Rossio/Baixa. Next, to it, you can find the stunning Mirador de São Pedro de Alcântara, a garden-terrace with a panoramic view of the city, Castle São Jorge and the river.



The Bairro Alto is known for its variety of theatres, museums, local shops (restaurants, bars, groceries, fado houses etc). The apartment is close to public transportation (subway, bus, and tram) and car parking. Situé sur une rue très calme, d'un quartier très vivant. L'appartement est compact, mais l'on y retrouve tout ce que l'on a besoin pour un séjour agréable.

Le logement était propre, bien équipé et dans un quartier calme.. en revanche nous n'avons pas été accueillis par une vraie personne car il s'agit d'une agence. Toutes les communications se font par mail et sur leur site c'est très impersonnel et déshumanisé A noter que les escaliers menant au logement sont très raides et étroits. Ils ne peuvent convenir à une personne en surpoids ou du 3ueme âge...

Loved the location and walking access to everything without being right in the middle of Lisbon with all the other tourists. Communication with the owners was excellent and they were very helpful when i couldn't get in at first. I would like to have had wash cloths with the bathroom towel sets. While it was no issue for me and i am 5' 2" so not large, if you're at all big, the size of the bathroom would be uncomfortably small. I would also like a darker blind in the bedroom window as the covering there let too much light in. With that said, the apt had everything one could want and would fit two people well. I would definitely come here again.

After a 10-day visit in mid-February, we decided that there is no better location to stay in Lisbon. The unit is close to good traditional and modern restaurants and bars, small grocery stores, public transportation, and is walkable to almost everywhere. The unit itself is well-equipped - comfortable bed, kitchen accessories and appliances, good WiFi, washing machine, plenty of hot water (at least for two people). It is located in an old building but is very modern inside. The street is quiet but is only two streets away from everything. And if you have a question - the host is very responsive. As an old building - the stairs are very steep, and spaces are small. It took us a day to find a place for everything (clothing, luggage) and the galley kitchen that attaches the front room and bedroom/bath is narrow. But once we settled in we were very comfortable. If you have mobility issues or are larger in stature, you may not be comfortable in this space.

The location is in a quiet neighborhood and fairly close to things, and the host was very communicative. The apartment was stocked with many essentials for a short stay.Unfortunately, we had to cut our stay short due to a very strong and unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom that spread throughout the entire apartment when we arrived at night. The bedroom floors were also greasy/sticky, and the heater made loud noises throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep.Additionally, it was not clearly stated in the listing that this is a second-story apartment accessible only by steep, narrow stairs (20 steps), which may be important for some guests. While there were positives, these issues significantly impacted our stay.

Central Location

Good location one street off the main busy street in bairro alto. Listing was exactly like the pictures in all regards. Was surprisingly quiet for the area. You might want to bring your own blanket for the bed. Host was helpful to get us into the apartment when the code didn’t work.

Cute place in great area

The apartment was cute and is located in a great, safe area. But, the place could use a bit of refreshing to make it feel cleaner. For example, a random grey blanket covered the living room futon. This change alone could completely change the feel of the place. Overall, it serves its purpose for travelers as a Lisbon is a city where you’re out all day.

Great place!

Centrally located on a nice quiet street. You can walk all over Lisbon from here. Fun vibrant neighborhood with plenty of night life and good food. Highly recommended. Kitchen and laundry are great also. Kitchen is well stocked if you want to cook anything yourself.

Filipa and her team were very accommodating and helped immediately with questions I had. The apartment was right where I needed to be in the city but it was still very quiet for sleeping. I loved the walk down the hill in the morning and the mix of good restaurants, small shops and local residences. I would come here again!

Bairo Alto is a Winner

Bairo Alto The 'high neighbourhood' is medieval in origin with many narrow roads and lanes and uniformly high buildings of three or four floors. Architectural style is also quite uniform because the medieval district was spared from the 1755 earthquake that destroyed most of Lisbon. The roads are roughly even in width with small sidewalks on either side and run up hill from the river with even narrower 'traverseras' or crossing roads every so often. From Wikipedia: "The medium base for these lots is based on the medieval blocks known as chão (literally, ground), an agricultural measure representing a lot with 60 palms length by 30 palms wide". I had never thought of measuring lots by hands like this, but then, we speak of horse heights in 'hands'. "The design of the roadways that run through the Bairro Alto, consists of a hierarchy of structural roads, oriented north to south in the direction of the Tagus River, and secondary lanes, perpendicular to the roads, running east to west.[1] The hierarchy of these routes are homogeneous in scale, with little variation in size in roads or lanes, a characteristic that is missing from the zones adjacent to the Bairro Alto, preserving an intimacy and unique character." We rented a small apartment on the second floor of a typical building on a typical street in Bairo Alto. The apartment is comfortable but I wouldn't want to have to cook here too often as the kitchen is tiny. We do take our breakfast here and sometimes lunch or dinner. Meals in restaurants are inexpensive but we prefer 'grazing' as a travel style and can buy local food in small neighbourhood shops. Morning coffee is an espresso in a delightfully ornate shop on the corner of Rua de Rosa and Rua Dom Pedro V, which cuts across the top of the bairo, or neighbourhood. Lunch snacks are carrots sticks, cherry tomatoes and cucumber sticks, maybe with a nice queso or cheese and Gamba or Bacalao fritters. I was delighted to find fresh figs and apricots in the corner grocery. We also enjoy the local specialty tinned tuna or sardines on crackers with vinho verde. Traffic in the streets of Bairo Alto is restricted to local residents and service vehicles. Some streets have bars and Fado restaurants and the district is considered one of the nightlife zones in Lisbon but our street is quiet.
