Excellent hotel. Walking in you are greeted by a wonderful hotel lobby bar. The drinks there were of good quality and tastes well, but their Negroni was served with regular ice. However, it was well made/mixed. The staff at the were some of the most attentive and engaging I have ever experience. They were extremely helpful and went out od their way with recommendations for local di ing and activities. The breakfast was by the far the nicest and best quality I have enjoyed at a city hotel so far. I found the rooms were a decent size for a European hotel. I was offered one night of an upgrade based on my Expedia status, but i declined, as I did not find it ideal to switch rooms for just one night. The only draw back I found was that the pool is not open until June. I was unable to find this information on their website and it would have been useful to know this ahead of time, as I had specifically booked this stay for the pool and spa. However, they have a sister hotel about 900m away, which did have an open and heated pool. The hotel was able to accommodate use of that facility for me.

There is an extremely nauseating strong perfume / air freshener scent that is overwhelming and gave me a headache. Please understand that many people are sensitive to smells and although I am not this was enough for me to want to leave the hotel. I was told the rooftop pool was available on check in and as I arrived ready for a swim - I was informed it was closed. Please accurately inform your guests as I would have stayed elsewhere for a pool in this heat. Called guest services to ask about the Italian restaurant and was told I would get a call back but did not. Will not stay here again. Many thanks to Pedro at the front desk who tried his best to help us out. He is very proficient at his job and caring!
