This is the perfect place to stay, since you will be within walking distance from all the main attractions and places to visit in Lisbon downtown such as Rossio, Chiado, Bairro Alto, Principe Real, Avenida da Liberdade, the City Castle and its picturesque neighborhood called Alfama. The 100 square meters apartment located on the 5th floor of a building without elevator, features 3 bedrooms, one living and dining room, two bathrooms, an equipped kitchen, and plenty of sunlight. Two of the bedrooms also have a French balcony with a fantastic view of the city castle. The bad--this is a 5 story WALK UP. No elevator. I cannot stress how difficult it is to get a suitcase in and out of this building. There is NO AIR CONDITIONING. It was over 90 degrees, so we had to open the windows to survive the night. It made it barely livable. The lively neighborhood was loud until about 1 AM. The furnishing/linens/towels were the very lowest quality. Couldn't even wrap a towel around your body! Very uncomfortable stay all around!! ##### Erin Q. We were three adults and 4 kids. We asked the owner to help us bring up our luggage and we were willing to pay but he said no. Also the property has 2 bedrooms on one level and one bedroom upstairs and bathroom. The bedroom upstairs is an oven, we were not able to sleep. Also the room ceiling is like an attic and same for bathroom ceiling is slanted. We kept on hitting our heads. The bathroom has no privacy. . It has a skylight directly at the level of the shower and the byuilding in front of us can see everything. Also there is construction next door and you hear the banging really early. The listing showed AC. There was No AC and it was 100 that day. We were in the apt for 15 minutes til we luckily found another place. Central Hill conveniently blamed VRBO and has yet to refund remaining 50 that they claim was for cleaning. Cleaning what? That's terrible customer service. ##### Joel R. Super convenient to restaurants and shopping. The place had great sun and was comfortable. Be aware, at first glance it says air conditioned but it is NOT. They provide fans but it does get hot since it is on the top floor. Speaking of...the walk up is not for the faint of heart. It is a hike to get to the place. Up 5 flights. Easy walk to tourist attractions, shopping and great food is at your front door. Our check-in was a breeze with Tomas. He was so helpful and even gave us great tips and tricks to get around the city and where to eat. Please read the description and take note of the steep steps (no elevator). The location is amazing. This is one of those places with a lot of miles on it, as evidence by the marks and nicks in the walls and bathroom tiles. The beds were comfortable and the balcony was cool by not functional. The second floor has really love ceilings, and I knelt down while shaving as that was the best option. The upstairs shower is tiny, as in skip washing your feet. Lastly, the stairs are definitely tough. We had a good amount of luggage and that trip up was intense with luggage. That said the people were nice, super accommodating, but I would likely stay somewhere different with family next time.
