Built in 1898, this home is on the National Historic Record of Homes, but features all the amenities of a new home including a master suite with gas fireplace, an eat-in kitchen with granite countertops and an exercise room with treadmill, recumbent bike, television and weight machine. Wrap around porches and a huge deck cantilevered over the hill above the lake make for great views and relaxation rain or shine. It was great to be close to downtown Lindstrom and walk through town during our stay. I was able to get to Mass on foot on Christmas Eve. It was a beautiful night and we felt safe. We were a little surprised at the "rustic" feel to it and the original main level is showing its age. But once we got used to the decor and all adults staying with us got settled, we quickly made it our home. The expansive and quirky lay out only add to the charm and provided lots of bedrooms for our party of 7, overnight party of 6\. Proximity to town provided a little shopping and a stop at the municipal bar as well as the bakery was in order. Kitchen was well equipped with supplies and useful utensils. Suggestions: grab bars in the baths and another handrail for the steep stairs.
