We would stay here again
A beautiful recently refurbished in a very attractive art deco style. Close to the cathedral it is perfectly placed in the heart of old Lincoln. Excellent breakfast and a very good dinner. Unfortunately there was no live tv in the rooms during our stay, for which we were reimbursed with a bar and restaurant credit. The room was cold due to a boiler problem, but we were provided with a mobile heater. There is no onsite parking, but public parking is readily available.

Lovely hotel
Wonderful location at the top of the steep hill - good to see it very busy. Wonderful refurbishment of an old building. Great cocktail bar and breakfast in the morning. As TVs not working nice little money off room rate for drinks etc

The location of the hotel is fantastic. Round the corner from the cathedral and castle. The room we had was spacious however, we were the floor below the refurbishments that is currently going on in the building which got quite noisy and woke us up in the morning. Also, it would be ideal if more information was in the room/told upon check in (eg WiFi, Room Service Menu and general hotel information such as menus for the restaurant/bars that are in the hotel). The staff were friendly and helpful with any queries. In addition to this, the breakfast was great and the newly refurbished restaurant was well decorated and felt contemporary. Definitely not a bad experience, has potential to be a really great hotel and will hopefully revisit once fully refurbished.

We booked the hotel because we had stayed before and had valued its car park. The car park was not available this time and that was a problem. We were generally impressed with the hotel, but the room could have been warmer because it was a very cold night. The scone that I was served with in the bar was comically small and placing 1 teabag in a pot for 2 really won't cut it. The hotel clearly aspires to produce a premium offering and largely succeeds, but there is room for an eye for detail.

Great weekend stay
The staff and hotel are excellent. Cleaners very friendly and nothing too much for them. The only thing was building work but this will make the hotel better, and we have to put up with a little noise for it to be completed. Breakfast is fantastic, we had special treats in our room. Will definitely be staying again.

A good central hotel with friendly staff. Next to Lincoln castle and Cathedral. One of the best breakfast choice menus that will give a fantastic start to the day. Downside is going up a very steep hill from the railway station to reach it. Plus being central can occasion be impacted by the street especially in the morning. Earplugs advised

The renovation of this hotel has transformed it. The bar and restaurant areas are stylish and inviting, and the refurbished room we had was fantastic. The huge bathroom was brand new, immaculate and had a freestanding bath tub and walk in shower. Nice touches like the gingerbread and gin that was left in the room for us were welcome surprises. It surpassed our expectations.

Great potential but still a lot of work to be done
Stayed for two nights at the White Hart. The hotel had just re-opened and the staff were inexperienced (but still excellent, friendly and efficient). Fantastic location but the hotel is still undergoing refurbishment and there is still a lot of work to be done. The Bar area, toilets etc were immaculate but the breakfast room was clearly temporary. The restaurant was not open as work was still being carried out. We were there with friends and they were in a refurbished room which was excellent, ours had not been refurbished and was a little disappointing. There is still a lot of work to be done at the hotel but it is moving in the right direction. It has the potential to be a fantastic hotel and we will probably be back at some point when it is fully finished and has the same high standard as it's staff.

Hopefully improvement after imminent refurb!
Location was perfect. Staff lovely. Booked a suite as a special treat and were very disappointed. Had the attic rooms, which gave spectacular views of the cathedral and castle but the room was so tired and lacking any personality. Bathroom was pretty awful. No water pressure (shower was completely pointless) and tiles looked like they were about to fall off the wall. Due to close next week for a big refurbishment and it really does need it. Very tired and shabby looking in places. Has the potential to be stunning though. Would like to revisit in the future to check out the improvements and hope they are sympathetic for this beautiful old building.

Fantastic hotel with such a rich history, staff were exemplary with the level of service they offered, the location was also perfect for access to the Cathedral and Castle as well as the city centre, having its own private parking right in the centre was bonus, five star recommendations.

A really nice old hotel 100 feet from the Cathedral. Great breakfast; free parking. It's old; the rooms are small, but nicely updated.There is nothing they can do about that! The beds are comfortable. The cathedral is epic.

A nice old coaching inn situated in the best part of the city for easy access to the cathedral, castle and restaurants. The hotel is in need of a bit of refurb. My room had no socket near the bed or shelf in the bathroom to put your stuff. Only a blind at the window and tons of condensation. Breakfast was good when it came but unbelievably slow. The first morning I had to take it with me and second morning was 45 minutes although I was one of the first in. Staff were friendly and helpful. upstairs, someone’s room service food was left on a tray outside from when I came in (evening) to the morning. What’s going on here?

Enjoyable stay but could be improved
Receptionist who booked us in was great friendly and helpful Breakfast service a little slow think due to staff shortage but food great - fruit display looked good but not very practical to take. Car parking convenient but could be improved to facilitate more cars being able to park eg mark out bays to optimise space and deal with pigeons. But great stay and location.

Historic hotel
Hotel near the top of steep hill. Historic building in historic part of town near castle and cathedral. Friendly staff comfortable bed no complaints , . My room was overlooking the street so there was some noise but not overwhelming.
