I do not often travel, much less stay at a vacation rental (it's by far cheaper to stay with family or friends). And the price of any rentals these days are beyond most people's budget. As much as we might have wanted a hot tub, pool, or sauna, or the guarantee of standard/up-to-date furniture/beds, etc ... you have to know what will ultimately make your vacation stay, and for us - this time of year - wet/cold weather - and for the event we wanted to attend, the most important point was knowing where we were. Seeing the familiar landmarks, even if it was too wet or cold to go outside is very gratifying. Being close to Roads End State Recreation Site, and a quick drive to downtown, stores, fast food, restaurants, or Devils Lake - it was a great way to feel removed, but also on top of the world. We saw deer, lots of bunny poop, and our dog enjoyed being on holiday as well 😀 😄 It was a safe, warm, dry haven for us during a winter storm. No dishwasher... no obvious place for drying dishes (no rack we could find...) The screen/glass(?) door stopping mechanism we couldn't get to work on either front or porch door. When making frequent trips in and out (packing, etc) we had to use something to prop the door open... Only wish we had more time. . . (And money 😅) Plenty of towels. There was a hair dryer & curling iron. There were scissors! And lighters for the wood heating stove. We were there for a couple nights for a pool tournament at the casino and really enjoyed our stay. ##### Ivan G.
