Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, backing on to Melmerby Moor, these two charming cottages enjoy extensive, stunning views over lovely Coverdale. Beautifully furnished, they have been extensively and tastefully modernised to a high standard, and each has its own garden area and south-facing patio. Coverdale is one of the prettiest Dales – and the whole area is excellent country for touring, cycling, walking, bird-watching, angling, pot-holing and sketching. The market town of Leyburn, just 5 miles away, offers shops and restaurants. A wide choice of local inns serve excellent food. Shops 3 miles. Town Head Cottage (KKP) and Griff Head Cottage (KZQ) can interconnected via adjoining doors and can be booked together to accommodate up to 10 guests. We were able to relax and enjoy the views, walks and local animals on our doorstep. This was our second visit which speaks for itself. The down sides are the beds which need to be upgraded. The double bed definitely needs to be a king sized or good quality twins. The other beds are well past their best. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately depending on how you look at it, the weather was surprisingly fine and hot. The permanent heat from the Aga made the house unbearably hot. Opening windows without fly screens was not an option in this rural and cow friendly environment.
