Situated on the northern side of the highway in Leura, Piccolo offers a cozy, quaint, and distinctive retreat in the mountains. This historic house, dating back over 110 years and constructed between 1910 and 1920, started its journey as a two-room miner’s cottage. It has preserved its original allure, showcasing timber walls, floors, and solid doors from its early days. Thoughtfully extended to blend traditional charm with modern conveniences, Piccolo now features a total of four rooms and a bathroom, ensuring a comfortable stay. A mere 20-minute walk from Leura Mall and a short drive to the splendours of the Blue Mountains, Piccolo positions guests perfectly to explore this Heritage Listed wonderland. The area is renowned for its stunning National Parks, walking tracks, gourmet food, artisan markets, an array of dining options, exquisite gardens, boutique shopping, and a vibrant calendar of events. Quaint historic cottage which was very comfortable. Our dog Max enjoyed the bush garden and all the smells it had. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay (although I do like a bathtub!). The house is roomy and spacious despite only having 4 rooms. The decor is charming. The heating is very effective. The grounds are large enough for a dog to run around and explore. It's nice to walk around the peaceful streets with just the sound of birds and it's only a short drive to the various towns of the Blue Mountains. ##### Karen T. Séjour de 2 nuits en novembre 2022 ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### Eileen B. 7 oct. 2022 #### Charming Cottage - Garden Neglected Cottage was adequate for our needs, however, out of the 4 dinner plates, 2 were cracked and unusable. The Hair Dryer had fallen behind the Clothes dryer but was retrievable and able to be used OK. A curtain would be ideal in the Bathroom. Otherwise the Cottage was warm and cosy with plenty of books, 2 jigsaw puzzles, DVD's and CD's (but nothing to use them on) and pots and pans, etc, for cooking. The Garden needed a general clean up with some plants in need of a trim and the grass mowed. A hand-rail on the concrete steps. would be ideal as they were difficult to manoeuvre especially at night when the outdoor light only stayed on for 30 seconds. As it was raining most of the time during our stay our dog was kept indoors, but even if it had been dry the condition of the yard would have restricted his movements. Basically, the garden was not as well kept as what it looked like in the advertising photos. Perhaps the winter month's weather had prevented the owner from doing garden maintenance and it will, no doubt, be attended to for the summer. The Cottage is lovely and in a nice quiet area with easy driving access to Leura and Kootoomba. ##### Eileen B. Lovely decor and cosy fireplace. Located in a quiet street with loads of birdlife but close to lovely Leura mall, cafes and shops. Michael was a great host, clear instructions and checked we we settled OK after check in. Very comfy bed and good facilities. Spent a few hours in the rocking chairs on the verandah chilling and reading. Great to have the open fire crackling every night. The front porch has a lovely view over gardens and gum trees. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and food preparation. We found the bed warm and comfy, and the dining table was a perfect place for a meal or snack looking out over the front garden. ##### Nick T.
