Secluded and a real experience in the mountains overlooking a lake We had an upgraded room which gave us a wonderful view. Not for you if you want disco and nightlife. Beds a bit hard and pillows not too comfortable. The only thing that truly bothered me was the fact that we did not want breakfast, only coffee ( that we would have paid for anyway) and the person managing the breakfast area said we would have to wait until the bar would open at 11 am so we could get coffee, when there was a perfectly working coffee maker in the breakfast area. This time we stayed three nights, and every day we drove way up into the high Pyrenees to see different areas. Some of the places we visited were Ripoll, S. Joan de las Abadesas, Beget, Rocabruna, Queralbs and the Val de Nuria, Dorria, and most special of all, S.Jaume de Frontanya. Every evening when we got back to the parador we took a long walk, enjoying the dramatic beauty of the landscape, and had a drink before dinner on the terrace overlooking the lake and its spectacular setting. Naturaleza viva. Habitaciones grandes, con todo lo necesario pero sin recrearse en excesos. Limpias. Baño generoso. Y un personal que se desvive por ayudarte. Una mención especial al camarero del Bufet que se ofreció a cocinar cualquier cosa ya que veía que desayunábamos poco al estar mi señora indispuesta. Respecto a la decoración general es sobria y clásica pero a la vez elegante. En seguida te das cuenta que allí se han producido hechos relevantes como la firma del primer estatut de Catalunya. Un lugar para el descanso, la meditación y si quieres el deporte o actividades en el exterior. Dotado de piscina junto al pantano y a los pies del parador y a pocos minutos de Vic. Un hotel precioso en un entorno fantastico! Las habitaciones son muy grandes, cómodas, baño muy amplios y completos con lavamanos doble y mucha luz natural. Los jardines y piscina son muy bonitos y con el calor se agradece mucho, sobretodo si uno se va a hacer visitas durante el día. EL acceso a la piscina /jardines no es muy cómodo para personas mayores o con problemas de movilidad o si vas con carritos de niños, pero el personal es muy amable y seguro te ayudan si se precisa. El servicio de comidas es exquisito!!! el personal es super amable y servicial, atentos, simpaticos y la comida es muy buena, con mucha calidad en los productos, en el emplatado, la preparación, etc. No suelo coger media pensión en los hoteles, pero en este caso por la ubicación del parador y por el servicio que tienen, creo que es muy muy recomendable, cada cena ha sido un festin!. El desayuno es muy correcto, nada espectacular comparado con las cenas, pero bien, es lo que se espera en un hotel de 4\*. El personal del hotel muy amable en todas las areas, incluida la recepción, cafeteria, y el personal de limpieza. Very nice Parador. I have only ever tried the bar food, as I find dinner starts a little late (20:30) after a day's driving, but the club sandwhich is just fine, coupled with a glass or 2 of Rioja. Rooms are very comfortable and generously proportioned. Do make the effort to get a view overlooking the dam if you are spending any time on your room´s balcony.
