Don't put old senior geezers, [such as my self, I'm 85 years old,] on the second floor. Trying to climb stairs with luggage at my age is not easy, and should not be something that should have to do.

Was a good overnighter. We had the double queen and it was a big room with a mini kitchen, large screen TV. The bathroom was not for the handicap. The toilet was really low and no grab bar. We were on the first floor, so you could really hear the people walking around upstairs. In a pinch we would stay here again. Was clean, but dated.

Pushed out of Albany
Older property but clean and kept up. Comfortable. We picked Shanico as the hotels in Albany were almost twice the price due to a busy football weekend. It is slightly inferior to the Super 8 in Albany but it is clean and comfortable.

My carpet was very dirty. It looked like it had not been vacuumed. I realize that when it tracked into my bed. The heater that was also the air conditioning unit would slam on and off all night and was a bit loud. I realize it is an older lowered budget place but that is no reason for not having it clean. When one thing is not cleaned you question everything else.

Check in was easy front desk is polite to customers. Place is pet friendly if you have a small dog. Older furniture and stuff in the room but still has basic amenities of coffee pot , fridge, etc. thin walls so if you’re a light sleeper might not be the best.

A decent place to hang your hat.
This is a no-frills, basic but decent place to stay. If you need an overnight stay, or a place to hang your hat while you are visiting the area, this place is worth considering. The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional. You can cancel up to the day of your stay if your plans change.

UNFORTUNATELY YOUR BOOKED RESERVATION WAS FOR A SMOKING ROOM WHICH YOU MAY HAVE BEEN BOOKED ACCIDENTLY. AT SHANICO WE ALWAYS TRY AND ACCOMIDATE A GUEST REQUEST IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. SOMETIMES WHEN THE MOTEL IS AT MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY WE CAN NOT REMEDY THE SITUATION FOR OUR GUEST. WE APOLOGIZE.

If you had to walk barefoot to the bathroom in the middle of the night, you can feel the lumps & bumps of deteriorating underlayment beneath the carpet. There were gaps around the door & the single window let ALL the traffic noise in from a busy main drag. All I can say is it was fairly clean & the bed was ok. Pillows were rocks! No separate deadbolt but the hefty desk chair made a good 2nd lock! And the mini fridge was over size & had a freezer!

This lodging has seen better days, but for a night's stay it was fine. Overall the room was clean, but the furnishings & carpet have seen a lot of use. The bed was comfortable, which is important to me, it was quiet after 10 (road traffic died down), the staff person was efficient & friendly. I liked that that the Inn was by ac grocery store, Starbucks and a great food cart pod with a microbrewery (good beer).

Beautiful drive .
Definitely not dog friendly..now weight limit to 20 lbs.No potty areas..next to very busy street. Very loud street racing..It was a Friday night.. But run by solid caring family.Room was clean.And I felt safe.

The room that you booked was a smoking room. There will always be a smoking smell in a smoking room. The room is a basic room, cleaned and prepared daily by our professional staff. We are an older motel that does show the signs of many comfortable stays. You might have booked a smoking room accidently. If you find a room unsatisfactory to you, please notify management immediately so that we may address the problem for you. Thank you for your review and comments.

The front desk manager was great...but thats where it ended! The room had a very strong mildew smell. When I pulled the hideous comforter back there were stains and hair on the sheets and pillows. When the manager pulled all of the sheets off to change them there was feces on them...so disgusting! We left! Don't waste your time...go to the best western!! Beautiful with an excellent restaurant

I can say that for a economy motel I was quite pleased. From the front desk check in by a person that spoke and understood ENGLISH to the clean no smoking room and a room in good repair all the way around. I wasn't promised a breakfast that typically is a sticky bun and a cup of coffee but Apple Annie's restaurant was right next door with good food. I well use them again if in the area. They are a 10
