Stunning Views A Hikers Paradise Nestled against a mountain side up a 4km lane that takes you deep into a secluded valley on the Beara Peninsula, you will find the cottage which is surrounded by waterfalls and stunning countryside with rolling hills to the east, and the Cork & Kerry mountains and the top of the Healy pass to the West. It is an Ideal retreat that offers a perfect mood space to detach from the hectic world we live in and collect your thoughts and relax, with a beautiful landscape that draws you in as you sit and watch the sun cast its shadows across the mountains. You really are at mother natures mercy here. There are stunning walks to be had straight from the front door as well as in the local area. The star of the lovely cottage is the scenery. After a drive down a long winding lane we were transported two hundred years into the past. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, sheep in small pastures with a river and waterfalls through it all. The cottage is simple and lovely. Jonathan, the host, Is one of the nicest people we've met, charming, funny and kind. So it was a bit of a surprise. A good surprise. The place is a tiny house, in the middle of nowhere with an amazing view. The river below is magnificent. The opportunities for walk are probably endless (we only had two nights). It was perfect to discover Ireland. From the cottage you can walk up the surrounding hills where you get a beautiful view into the valley and out onto the ocean. Jonathan is a wonderful host who makes you feel right at home and provides you with lots of recommendations, including local pubs and activities in the area.
