Nestled in South Launceston only 2 blocks from the hospital and a 15 - 20 minute walk to the center of the city you'll enjoy both the proximity and ease of this home. With two large bedrooms, a fully appointed kitchen and a wonderfully comfortable lounge you'll be sure to have a relaxing stay. If you aren't into cooking you'll find cafes and food trucks both in easy reach. Space This two bedroom gem is a wonderful blend of old and new. The red brick home holds onto it's heritage with high ceilings and beautiful features but also spoils our modern hearts with a new bathroom, air conditioning and multiple heating options. With unlimited wifi, large TV and comfy couches it is a cozy home lovers delight. The small outdoor area has a dining setting for you to enjoy the fresh air, and the park behind can be accessed by simply walking around the block. There is play equipment including a climbing gym and swing set, a basketball ring and, for our furry loving friends, a dog park! The modern bathroom has a walk in shower and there is a washer and dryer available for your convenience. Although there is no off street parking there is 2 hour free parking in front of the home between 8:30am and 5pm and unlimited free parking outside of these hours. Getaway on Garfield is set to impress, looking forward to hosting you! Guest Access Guests have access to the whole home. The Neighborhood South Launceston is a lovely and diverse suburb, known for its mining cottages built in the early 1900's. Being the first suburb South of the city, South Launceston is only a short walk or drive into Launceston’s city centre. With this hard-to-beat location, South Launceston provides you with access to many eateries, retail shops, amenities and Launceston’s city centre with ease. Whilst exploring the suburb, we recommend stopping in to Guerrilla drive-through coffee to start your day. Wellington Street runs through the suburbs centre, with popular restaurants, take-aways, hairdressers, beauty salons and boutiques branching off either side. Nearby, you will find the Door of Hope facility housing Launceston's most popular gym, a café, a childcare centre, conference facilities and a church. Coronation park, containing a sporting oval and small playground, is located in South Launceston. Other local parks include Princes Square, full of historical fountains, and the City Park which is known for its beautiful oak tree gardens, playground for the children, a plant-filled conservatory and cheeky snow monkeys. Wander down to Launceston’s city centre, where you will find yourself surrounded by many of Launceston's most iconic historical buildings. You will find many tasty cafés and restaurants, an array of shops and boutiques and a vast range of cocktail bars and pubs. South Launceston provides you with easy access to the Launceston General Hospital, and Charles Street, where you are sure to find many eateries and bars. Other restaurants and bars of note include The Black Cow Bistro, Cataract on Paterson, Café Mondello, Novaro's and Cinco Passione's, who serve up arguably the most tasteful cocktails in the city. The Cataract Gorge is a spectacular natural formation where you can enjoy long and short walks, fresh water swimming basins, the world's longest single-span chairlift, a play area, BBQ’s and vibrant peacocks! An additional, unique way to experience this attraction is via the Tamar Cruise vessel, which cruises through the waters that carve between the rocky formations. Getting Around To get the most out of your stay, to be able to explore all that Launceston and its surrounds have to offer, a car is recommended. Additionally, there are many alternative options listed below: METRO BUS SERVICE: Metro bus service provides transportation throughout Launceston and its surrounding suburbs each day. To access timetables, routes, and prices, please visit the Metro Tasmania Website. FREE TIGER BUS: The bus travels around the city. There are bus stops located nearby outside Princes Square Park and the Launceston General Hospital. It is easy to spot – painted with the black and brown stripes of a Tasmanian Tiger!
