Nice hotel with a pleasant staff. Gaming easy play

Pros: The cleanliness and hospitality of the staff and patrons. The Tuesday show with M Town was very enjoyable and quite good..
Cons: Not much, however if they are picking up at the airport during the day they maybe could have an early and afternoon trip to the STRIP.
Location: The location is fine if you like a relaxing vacation. Did not do much locally as part of my family were staying at Mandalay Bay and I visited them.
The registration desk is very accommodating. The meals at the Garden Buffet are plentiful and good, especially with the 50% off coupon in the Fun Books they give you when checking in. Rooms are pretty spacious for the discounted pricing in August. The pool area is well kept and the chaises were ten times better than those at Mandalay Bay. All in all I would stay there again when visiting Las Vegas. It is much quieter than the turmoil on the Strip. One misleading amenity is the pickup from the airport, it stops at 9:30 PM. If one is arriving later transfers should be arranged prior to getting to the airport, if available. A pleasant stay for four nights.

Away from the trashy strip, but that's about it.

Pros: Parking and accessibility.
Cons: New beds. Cook to order restaurants.
I have to come to Vegas every year for a convention, so it is not my preferred travel destination. I wanted to get away from the strip, but downtown is even worse. So, I decided to try South Point. It is great to get in and out of the place. No traffic congestion and lots of parking. Also, there is an interstate exit right there at the location. The room accommodations are very nice except for the bed. As soon as I laid down on the bed I could feel the coils sticking into my back. I guess I am spoiled with a memory foam bed at home. Only got about 4 hours of good sleep the first night. I called room service and asked them if they could add a mattress pad to the bed. They put 2 blankets underneath a thin pad. Fortunately, I had a king bed. I took all the padding they had and doubled it. That made the bed tolerable. I only ate there once the first night. Went to the Japanese restaurant and got a garlic chicken bowl. The rice and chicken were dry like they had left it out all evening under a heat lamp. The good news is there are quite a few restaurants nearby to choose from. Most all of them are very good. The only way I would go back there is if they changed their beds. And, I won't ever eat there again.

Nice, small hotel

The rooms were nice and so was the hotel staff. My biggest complaint is with the restaurants inside the hotel rude and incompetent staff.

South of The Strip, but something for everyone!

It was our first time in Vegas, so staying at South Point was a wonderful choice! They have complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport and service to The Strip for a nominal fee (better than taking a taxi). We were able to get into our room sooner than expected, and was pleasantly surprised with the size. The bed was pretty comfy and the bathroom and toiletries were decent. The hotel is set up very nicely with the restaurants and bars situated around the casino. South Point has 64 bowling lanes, a movie theatre, a show room for their nighttime entertainment, an arcade, a bingo room, a poker room, sports betting area, a great pool and hot tub, spa services, and an arena that can host a variety of things (such as horsing events). We were amazed by how much you can do without leaving the hotel! We were there when it was 104 degrees every day, so it was nice to know we could still be entertained without being outside much. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it wasn't smoky in the casino area where it is allowed. We very much enjoyed our stay and would come back again!
