Second stay and still loving it! ❤️
Second time staying here. In nov 2019, the beach was different, no sand barrier, and there were beach chairs provided. But in nov 2021, there were constructions on both sides of the hotel, and the beach although still clean and quiet, but is so different from 2 years ago. Good things are that Room is still very clean. it still has good resort vibes, although outdated, but i liked this hotel hence decided to stay here again and it doesn’t disappoint. Plus plus point: Amazing Tengah beach steps away from our room :) There are constructions everywhere, hopefully Sunset Beach Resort will thrive even though pantai tengah is developing like crazy :(

Great location, short walk from the restaurants and shops, and with a private section of beach. Nice room, though no Wifi in the room, which was disappointing. Had to go to the reception area for Wifi. Shower pressure was weak.

Good for budget and flexible travelers
If you are on a budget or are looking for mid-range hotels, this might be a good hotel for you. Although, you get what you pay for and maybe a little less. Major pros- private beach with lounge chairs, shade, and quiet atmosphere; very convenient location within 5-10 minute walking distance to main beach, lots of restaurants, some duty free, a couple convenience stores, and a taxi stand. Cons and why I might not stay here again-linens (towels and bedsheets and blankets) are very old, used, stained, and falling apart, i.e.strings hanging off the towels; old rooms-the rooms near the office have old wood windows that don't completely close so we kept the curtains closed to keep insects out, there's a space under the door so a small lizard got in our room. Overall it's clean but there's some things like dirty spots on the wall that haven't been cleaned in a long time. There was some red goo on the back of the air con remote. Things like that make you not want to touch anything in the room. The women that run the place are very sweet and I really enjoyed the garden and plants that hang over the path on the way to the beach. Basically it's quiet but if you have neighbors you can hear them talking so if they're loud, it will be loud in your room. Our room had an old TV that only got 1 channel but the other rooms had flat screen I heard. The air con worked great! And the bed was firm.

Exceeded my expectations as i initially thought that they have not done much in improving the rooms bcoz of the pics i saw online. Booked this room at no choice bcoz its the nearest resort to the ironman finish line at the time that i was doing the reservation. Exceeded expectations indeed.

Excellent location, right at the beach!
Chalet-like rooms very close to the beach and food. Pantai Tengah is a quieter, more private beach. The room we had was a bit old but the rooms nearer the beach looked better. Reception was friendly. Very good value for money, will stay again!

Amazing stay
I had an amazing stay at Sunset Beach Resort. The room is clean and spacious and I was travelling alone. I was also happy by the treatment of the hotel staff who knows me by name. but the only thing that was slacking is that there was that there was no cafe or free breakfast. Luckily, there is a lot of restaurants available nearby. I also love it that this place offer its guests a private beach access. I spent my evenings there walking along the beach and looking at the sunset.

The hotel was on the beach on the quieter side of Cenang beach, which was ideal. The beach is littered with swept up trash, bottles and flip flops. Nobody seems to clean it. It’s a little sad because it could be so beautiful. We have several issues with our room. Tiny little ants all over 1 bed, a severly leaking air conditioner and finally the last night, we had neighbors who tripped the power 5 times during the early morning starting at 4:30am. We got very little sleep. Lastly, the hotel owner was no where to be found ( on vacation and cant be reached said 1 person). Dont know how it got the 8.4 rating.

Nice, small accommodation slightly south of the busy main area of Langkawi, but close enough to walk (5-10 minutes). Basic facilities, but everything is always cleaned daily by the staff, who are very friendly. The WiFi was much better than expected, and access to the private beach is much better than the main beach. Would highly recommend.

Budget hotel with own private beach
If your looking for 5stars this is not the place for you. However if you're like me and want clean and reasonably comfortable affordable accommodation this is a great place to stay. Check in and out was simple. Gardens just beautiful! Gorgeous private beach compete with Sun chairs and amazing island views. Walking strolling distance to duty free shopping, street food vendors. Restaurants of all kinds, and transportation. Located in the main street made getting food easy as the room whilst sspacious did not have kitchenette. But who wants to cook on.holidays when the food is like $2 AU a meal! The biggest downfall was the beds were not really great and a bit hard but immaculate clean. I was with my partner and 16 yr old step daughter and the room was huge enough for us all to have our own limited privacy when sleeping. I would have no hesitations of recommending this resort to anyone who doesn't mind it not being luxury but happy with good budget accommodation in an excellent location.

The location is really convenient, staffs are very friendly. I would say that it is worth the money if you are after a budget trip despite the fact that there may be mosquitos. There were also lizards found in the room. Just spam mosquito repellents.

Amazing Stay!!
The rooms are just 2 mins walk away from the private beach. Despite the fact that there are lesser water activities compared to the public beach (Pantai Cenang), the beach is super clean and has big waves. I'd like to recommend one bringing their own surfboard. There's no closing time for the beach, so it's perfect for a midnight walk by the beach too. However, this hotel does not provide toothbrushes and shampoos. And you have to ask the reception for a hairdryer. But one can easily buy it from the convenience store nearby or the duty-free zone just next to the premise (5min walk). If you are looking for a more happening beach, this is not the one for you. Overall it's a really good hotel.

Nice hotel with private beach and a lot of plants.
When I entered the room, there are a few mosquitoes flying around. Luckily the electric mosquitoes coil are provided. Didn't get Any bites during sleep. It was Hari Raya and I am surprised that the staff offer me some kuih raya when I pass by the reception area. The staff are very friendly. I loved the beach and it is within walking distance to the aquarium world.

Fantastic hotel with private beach. If you have kids and need a pool, bar and restaurant onsite then probably not for you but if you want a Romantic getaway in really clean rooms with private beach and 5 minute walk to restaurants then absolutely unbeatable

Well - first impressions at reception there were bags and bags of laundry piled up, not good. Whilst the check in was friendly I’d had to change my booking by calling Hotels Com but the reception refused to abide by the agreement resulting in a heated exchange with the hotel. The hotel would not honour their agreement which was outrageous. In terms of the room and location my friend and I were at opposite ends of the hotel (which is quite a distance) my room was next to reception dark and noisy by friends was down by the beach and the opposite! The rooms were basic as expected but ok and given that Ccnang is some torremolinos hell hole the location was not too bad and had amazing access to the beach. Having said that two mega hotels are being built one on each side of this hotel and whilst it was quiet whilst I was there and these sites just fenced off presumably it won’t stay like that. There was also beach erosion and artificial bolstering of the beach. If you have to stay in Cenang this is not too bad although the road is all broken pavement, traffic and super tacky expensive shops. The main spoiler for me is their blatant refusal to stick with their agreement. Hotels Com reimbursed me as the hotel broke faith with them.

Great budget hotel option, with super friendly staff, located on quiet part of the beach. Location is perfect as it is on private part of Pantai Tengah beach but close enough to walk to main strip of Pantai Cenang. This small hotel has the friendliest staff ever, who were on hand to quickly resolve any requests. Will definitely be back !! Only downside may be the future building of a large condo/ hotel nearby, so visit before it’s too late. Hopefully it won’t happen and this little gem will retain its charm and cherished position.

Great choice for Centai Penang
The best part about the hotel is it's location - its perhaps the only hotel on the Centai Penang beach. It also has its own private beach - a big plus. Everything touristy on the Centai Penang beach (the duty free shops, souvenirs, restaurants etc) is literally a few minutes walk. The hotel has a beautiful forest theme, lots of trees, nice artefacts. The room is big. The bathroom had a very innovative sunlight vent. The wifi doesn't work in the rooms - one needs to come to the reception area for decent speed. The furniture is a little dated and needs a bit of modernisation. We loved our stay - perfect place to relax on the beach and stay close to the hustle n bustle.

20 minutes drive from airport to the resort. Nearby to lots of shops and restaurants. Directly beside Pantai Cenang. The resort is clean and well maintained with friendly staffs.

Homely vibe with awesome sea view
We stayed in the sea view room. The hotel is right on the Tengah beach. The vibe is very homely with Balinese decorations all around. The staff are very friendly and ready to help. There was no hair dryer in the room. But on asking from the staff, they readily gave me one. The beach is private for the resort guests only, so we could enjoy the beach without much crowd. Highly recommended!
