Terrible stay
My family and I stayed at this property from August 6th and we should stay till 13th but because of bad experience we left two days early. Right at the arrival we drove to the driveway where we we greeted by old truck covered in spider webs which followed us through the whole property. I never in my life seen so many spider webs. The property outside was dirty and covered in cobwebs. Even the front door were full of them, and let’s not talk about the windows. The window in the kitchen has nice view of the lake which you could barely see. My husband cleaned windows and spider webs next day to the certain point because I was ready to leave. The patio chairs and other furniture was the same. They looked like they weren’t used months. The sunroom smelled like smoke which you couldn’t get rid off even if you left windows open all the time. Beds weren’t comfortable at all. We used all three beds and each bed felt like you were laying on the sheet of plywood. Kitchen definitely needs some organizing because same things were in three different locations. Also the floor were missing a piece of laminate so you were walking around the hole in the middle of kitchen floor. The countertop looked like it was just placed on top of the cupboards because you could actually see the big space between them. The ice maker on the fridge wasn’t working and we couldn’t make stove to heat up more than 375 Fahrenheit. The couches were so soft and worn out that you literally sink into the couch. We need it to use extra cushions to seat on them to somehow feel comfortable. We rent properties quite often and we know that you don’t always get what you expect, but this property is faulty advertised. I wish I could post pictures to back up my words. The house isn’t maintained at all. The location doesn’t offer anything because everything is 15-20 min drive to anything. Overall we were very disappointed with our stay and like I mentioned earlier we left two days early because of that. I’m still trying to get in contact with the property manager but haven’t had luck yet.

Surprise! A beautiful dock, but a smoky sunroom and tiny 2nd shower
My family (three adult siblings and our spouses) rents a different cottage in Ontario every year, so we know to expect surprises with every rental. Here's what surprised us, good and bad, about this rental: The dock: It was beautiful! The description and photo in the listing does not do it justice. A beautiful place to sit for sunrises and sunsets. The waterfront: While the water was high when we were there, we were still able to easily get our three kayaks in and out of the water, and we had lovely hours of kayaking on the lake. The beds: They were very comfortable, with cozy linens and pillows. Everyone slept very well. And as city dwellers, we loved the quiet! Ample supplies: The cottage was well-stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, cleaning supplies and towels. The kitchen is, arguably, oversupplied. We counted 32 dinner plates and two turkey roasters, for example. We had to store our food on the counters because most of the cupboards were full. (The cupboards could use a 'cull'.) The sunroom at the back of the cottage: It has lovely views, but smelled terribly of smoke when we arrived and really never fully aired out by the end of the week. The shower in the second bathroom: It can only fit a small child, and leaks all over the bathroom floor because the shower door does not seal properly. K-cup machine: Was broken when we arrived and was not replaced. A small deal, I know, but we are big coffee drinkers, and we had brought an assortment of more than 100 k-cups to enjoy over the week, which we were then not able to use. A can of Tim Hortons ground coffee just isn't the same, and we would have brought our own machine from home if we knew the cottage machine was broken. Cottage write-up on VRBO: Needs to be edited, updated and tidied up. It says many of the same things over and over again, but sometimes differently, leading to confusion about what the cottage really offers. Communication with the property manager: Was slow. I emailed in January but never got a response. I emailed again in the spring, and got a response about a week later. Perhaps the cottage rental market is so hot right now that managers do not need to worry about communicating with renters, but if the situation was reversed, I am certain they would lose business because of the lack of communication. Overall: We enjoyed our week, and would recommend this cottage to others with similar interests as ours.

Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous setting
Our stay here was amazing. Fishing off the rocks, swimming in the lake, lounging in the sunroom and living room and gazing at the stars from the patio. This place had everything plus a gourmet kitchen too. Was less than an hour away from Windsor and Point Pelee for fun day trips. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Marcel for your hospitality!

Everything was good. Unfortunately the internet did not work which was a problem for us. The kitchen was stocked excellent. The outdoor chairs could use new cushions. But the place was nice and perfect to get away. Marcel was good to deal with.

Cottage Life
We were very pleased with the cottage. It was nicely decorated, fully stocked and very accommodating for the seven of us. We enjoyed the sunroom as well as the gazebo. Access to the water was dangerous without a dock or stairs to get in especially for the small children. The windows and the outside could use a power washing. We would definitely go back.

Good cottage on Lake St. Clair needing updates!
Overall, the inside of the cottage was quite clean and organized. Kitchen updates were good. Ample bedrooms. However, the outside of the cottage is in need of some TLC and attention. As it is marketed as a summer vacation spot on the Lake, the backyard could do with some fixing up. Patio should be redone with interlock that is safer; patio furniture is old and not inviting (cushions old and/or covered with spider webs). Cleaning should also be down on outside of property (windows covered in spider webs and dead moths). Some broken/old bare patio furniture is just sitting out. Outdoor fireplace is rusted out. Owner should invest more in making the outdoor patio the focal point of this property! We avoided sitting outside for the above reasons. BBQ is functional and useful. There needs to be a dock built that could be used for sitting or jumping into the Lake. Outdoor space was a disappointment; but inside of cottage is good.

Relaxing stay
Overall the cottage was perfect for our family of five. Very clean and tastefully decorated. We were a little disappointed about the access to the water, and lack of dock for fishing. We could have been better prepared if we had of known in advance. Overall, a great week!
