The cabin will be decorated for the holiday season with twinkling lights, Small Christmas trees, and holiday decor. Enjoy S'mores with the family around the fire pits at Northstar and special holiday events. Northstar Resort features live music at the end of the ski days and has many restaurants, wine bars, and a movie theater. The Northstar shuttle picks up right in front of our home, generally within 5 minutes of the scheduled time. It will take you to the ski resort or the beautiful Rec Center (with a gym, pools, jacuzzis, tennis, game room, and more). Featuring an open floor plan, vaulted ceilings, and cathedral windows, this newly remodeled cabin will delight your senses and warm your heart. With brand-new hardwood floors, knotty alder wood doors and trim throughout, new carpets and tile, a new remote-control fireplace, remodeled kitchens and bathrooms, and beautiful new furnishings that blend rustic industrial chic with French chateau styles, you will at once feel cozy and warm. Plus, you will have access to the nearby beautiful Northstar recreation center (Guest Passes - $10pp per day), which features a full fitness center, weight-training room, locker rooms with showers, saunas, three outdoor hot tubs, and a lap pool, all open year-round. There’s an adults-only clubhouse with free wifi, a fireplace, leather couches, and a library. The kids can have a blast in the game room, with a large collection of video games, air hockey, foosball, and ping pong. There’s also a large swimming pool, splash zone, toddler pool, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and bocce ball courts in the summer. Even when you're not skiing or enjoying the Lake, you'll enjoy the rec center, and Northstar Village offers plenty of other leisure activities. This is our family's home away from home, and we hope you enjoy the charming decor, entertainment features, amenities, and location as much as we do. It’s in a beautiful resort community in North Star right by the Ritz. The kids very much enjoyed the pool and arcade, and had fun taking the free shuttle to get there. Rec center is $10 per guest per day, so I thought it would be $90 for our whole group, but under 5 was free and adults not swimming were graciously not charged so it came out to less. The boys loved the bunk bed, and we noticed there was even a trundle, although we didn’t need it. House was the perfect size for two families. We took the free gondola to the top of the Ritz on the last day, which I highly recommend. Gorgeous views. Lake Tahoe is a short drive away, and so is downtown Truckee. I hope to be able to stay again in winter because the shuttle takes you to Northstar village, which was mostly closed in summer, but looks like it would be a blast in the winter. Donna, the host, was so quick to respond to questions before we arrived. Kitchen is well stocked with the basics, including olive oil, but remember to bring butter. ##### Jennifer O. Maybe manager needs to talk to the housekeepers as we found trash and old socks under the couch! Also, it would have been nice to have TVs in more than the family room and one room upstairs as the living room was a bit small for us all to hangout in! Side note, my son had brought his xbox to connect but could not do so because the TVs would not allow the HDMI connection as they might have been older model! Only other comment, we had brought food and there really was not anywhere to store as all of the cabinets were full! But other than that, the house was cute, overall clean! ##### Jennie D. In spite of an incredible snow storm, making arrival a challenge from all directions, we had the most incredible time! The house was comfortable and well equipped and Donna was helpful throughout. The house was clean, updated, and beautifully furnished/decorated. The deck was fantastic for relaxing and BBQing. The neighborhood was quiet and just a short walk to Northstar village. Plenty of things to do very nearby- hiking trails, golfing, biking, Kings Beach; also comes with access to a beautiful pool and gym. We can’t wait to come back! ##### Lee R. There were 8 of us total - 4 adults and 4 kids aged 5-15\. We enjoyed the easy shuttle pick up to get to the village. We used the kitchen a bunch to make easy meals and enjoyed lounging on the couch. The cabin was stocked with plenty of games to play as well - perfect for our family get together. Donna was quick to help us with any issues we had - the key code to get inside, fireplace info. We stayed here over New Year's with another family (4 adults; 4 kids, ages 7-10) and plan to return this season once more (more if available). Our feedback on various aspects below... OWNERS: Donna is super responsive. She always responded to our emails and inquiries within a couple hours. The information for check-in was available well in advance of our visit. Instructions for getting into the house were VERY easy. LOCATION: Have I used the word "perfect" enough? Beaver Pond is a 3 minute shuttle ride to the village. Download the Northstar app and simply request a pickup. We never waited more than 8 minutes to get into or return from the village. Use the NPOA passes to drive over to rec center to relax in hot tub, work out at gym, or let kids play in arcade. HOME: Charming. Spacious. Updated. Very clean. Fully equipped with everything you could possibly need/want. The kitchen is plentiful when it comes to pots, pans, dishes, glasses. There is a coffee maker, toaster, griddle, cheese boards, baking dishes, extra coffee filters, dish towels, pot holders, dishwasher pods, basic cleaning stuff, etc. Bathrooms have plenty of soap, towels, washrags, toilet tissue, etc. Fireplace and Nest thermostat worked wonderfully and kept everyone warm and toasty. Dishwasher, washer and dryer are updated and work well. ROOMS: Master upstairs was very spacious. Outside of master bedroom is the bunk room (two twin bunks plus a trundle). In the bunk room (where two kids stayed), there is a TV and foosball table. Kids loved it. Master bathroom (shower, toilet, two sinks) is off that room. Downstairs, there are two bedrooms: One very large one with queen and twin beds - two other kids stayed in that room and the other one slightly smaller (but with plenty space) with a queen-sized bed. Downstairs bath had single sink, bathtub/shower combo, and toilet. Overall, a REALLY great place. We will definitely check on availability of Chalet Madier before booking Northstar again.
