Excellent hotel close to the lake!

Hotel was great! Travelled with family with young kids for only one night.. Checked in early by the friendly staff. Stayed in the family room with mountain views. Free breakfast and clean rooms. I would in a heartbeat rebook this hotel! Staff very helpful and friendly, especially at the beer garden restaurant. Bearcamp hotel Rocks!

Convenient location with good food and beer

Posted 22-Nov-2016
The hotel is conveniently located walking distance to heavenly village and the lake. Room amenities are fairly basic but clean and comfortable. Beer garden is great, good food, good beers. Come here for the beer and food and clean facility. Friendly staff. Only cons - TV has poor reception with only basic channels - not really watchable. The furnace/heater needs instructions - I'm a technical person and was still a bit confused with the operation of it. This hotel is best served as -- wait for it -- a base camp for your other activities in Tahoe. Not necessarily a hotel for staying in your room.

Loved location & beer garden. Only downfall is no fridge or bathtub in rooms.

Alright hotel, would consider staying again

Posted 14-Nov-2016
Pros: Cute room that fit the whole family, nice atmosphere in the evening
Cons: Horrible pillows, blankets and breakfast. Large dogs allowed to sniff the breakfast food
Location: Hiking, lake stuff
Cute hotel. We enjoyed hanging out around the fire in the evening. Roasting marshmallows, listening to music, playing games. The bed were horribly uncomfortable. The super fluffy pillows and blanket made it feel like we were being swallowed alive by a marshmallow and I woke up hurting. The free breakfast is horrible, even the dogs that they allow in the food area where turning up their noses at it. And by 7:30am Sunday morning they had run of hot chocolate, milk and spinach. The soy milk was warm and the coffee was cold. Would consider staying again if I brought my own b3dding and planned on going elsewhere for breakfast. Not of reasonably priced hotels comfortably fit my family of 5

We had a great time here. But they had a wedding reception that they didn't notify us about before our stay which took up about half of the amenities and fire pits on the property. I wish we would have known about that, or possibly have been compensated for not being able to use every asset at basecamp. Beside that, everything else is great, I wish they had a better breakfast menu as well that would compensate people that can't eat waffles or pastries.... All in all we love this place and will probably go back.

Fun place for party goers...

Would have been 5 stars had I had hot water for a shower the two nights I was there...and if the ceiling fan didnt HUM continuously even when turned off. Apparently there was a wedding party on my wing of the hotel that used up all the hot water for a day and a half. Regarding the ceiling fan, hotel offered ear plugs which I used both nights I was there. I have bad hearing on one side and could still hear the hum of the ceiling fan through the ear plugs. I asked the maintenance to disconnect the fan, but he said the humm was coming from the fan in the room next to mine. Since the hotel was booked, I was stuck in that room. i had the king size bed and balcony with views of Heavenly ski resort. The beer garden had live both Friday and Saturday night and camp fires which was pretty cool. Given the issue with the hot water which I finally got at 7 am the day I was leaving and the ceiling fan noise, I am reluctant about returning to this hotel in the future. I hope this hotel can iron out those issues.

Room was great. This hotel is always a great place to stay when there is a concert in town. The courtyard is a very relaxing awesome place to hang out.
