Noisy wall heater ruined everything

Posted 18-Apr-2017
My bf and I were on a weekend ski trip and chose to stay at this hotel for its great location and reasonable price. The room was clean and bed was super comfortable. Everything looked just perfect until we found out how annoying the wall heater really was. It was LOUD when the air kept blowing out of it, which was one thing we had to deal with since the room was pretty cold. That's not the worst part however, the nightmare happened when we turned it off in the midnight. This old machine somehow started to produce a sharp humming sound and would not stop. It was worse than any humming sound I have heard and was literally driving me crazy. We tried to call the front desk, but nobody answered the phone 4am in the morning. At last we decided to turn it on again, even though the room was hot and dry but that was still better than being tortured by another few hours. I am a light sleeper and hate this kind of noise, but even my boyfriend, who sleeps like a log every time taking an airplane, found it unbearable. Not sure if it was just our room or it was common in all the rooms of this hotel, but I guess I will never come back here.

Great locations, close to ski resort.

We stayed here at the end Of winter, fantastic staff service and facilities. Under a 10 minute walk to the mountain gondola and very close to the heart of the town.

great location, terrific concept, great staff

Cons: parking situation, tough for big trucks to get into and out of the parking garage, I saw some close calls with cars exiting.
terrific concept, great touches like the ice chest ice holders and great food and atmosphere in the beer garden. I would return.

Over priced

Posted 30-Dec-2016
Our room had someone elses shirt left on the bench, a used coffee mug in bathroom, some sort of body hair on bathroom counter and metal bucket on tv stand. After telling the front desk and them supposedly cleaning the room the same hair was on the counter, shirt and coffee mug was moved to the railing outside our door. The floor is black tile that was filthy and my husband made mud prints in the shower from the filthy floor. I kept tripping over the shower drain which wasnt attatched and if you want a wash cloth forget it. They dont put those in the room.

Mountain Air & Sustainable Feel

Stay was great. Hotel has that Kimpton like feel but with snow, hiking, camping theme. Would recommend stocking rooms with bottle water, extra towels, and coffee/coffee maker.

Quiet location close to gondola

Overall a good experience. There was a slight issue with our room not being available but resolved quickly. Great breakfast. Family room great but beds too soft - they could replace mattresses. Also room smelled musty, carpet looked like it could use deep clean/replacement.

Really funky, cool boutique style hotel. It almost had the vibe of a cool European Hostel but with all the convenience of American hotels! Breakfast was simple but nicely presented. Overall, I would highly recommend

fun

This was a really fun place to stay. It's an older hotel that has been converted to a neat little spot that is very unique. The fire pits and beer garden are a really neat feature. There are a few little maintenance this but they are minor but that just come with and older building. And they are working to take care of all that stuff. It's easy walking distance to heavenly village and the Stateline casinos. you can supliment the complimentary breakfast with some hot sandwiches for a small charge. The staff is fantastic!
