This is the original home of the family who founded and operated the "North Pole, Santa's Village." In tribute to their family and all of the 'spirit' they have given so many, the home is now known as The Claus Family Lodge. This home has character like no other. Artisanship, and architecture only found in Lake Placid in the 40's has been modernized and is now available for all to enjoy. The living area exhibits expansive windows with views of White Face Mountain and the famous glacier Lake Placid. In addition, the house is only a five minute walk to Mirror Lake with all of its shops and internationally renowned restaurants. Claus Family Lodge is equipped with a Huge (20x40)Volley Ball /Badminton with a sand court, BBQ gas grill, large fire pit, hot tub, an additional lot with kids play ground, horse shoes and more. Inside there are new amenities a foosball table, pingpong table, 2 -80 inch flat smart Tv's, a modern and upgraded kitchen with beautiful slate floors, Carrara Granite countertops, 3 fireplaces, 7 bedrooms and best of all, the Lodge will comfortably accommodate 16.The Lodge has a double lot which has a children's play ground. The family room has gorgeous original barn wood walls, a wet bar, heated floors, a fireplace and furniture that is wonderfully cozy and inviting. The Hot tub is super easily accessible from the sliding glass doors. The kitchen has been upgraded with brand new appliances, 2 ice makers.. 2 refrigerators, double sink, beautiful granite, slate floor, pots, pans, toaster oven, fondue maker, blender, mixer, and Oneida silverware to complement the Mikasa Calder Red dish setting for 26\. The dinning room has 2 -106 inch tables and close by is a 54 inch round to easily serve meals or play cards at the same time. Around the corner is the living room with a comfy curved couch, marble fireplace and beautiful large windows to view Whiteface and Lake Placid. The bedrooms begin shortly thereafter, each offering a pillow top king bed, with a 1000 thread count sheets to help you relax and get some well needed rest. The Master has a king pillow top with 2 single pullout sleeper couches, bedroom 2 and 3 both house king pillow tops, The upstairs hosts 2 bathrooms, 1 king, 1 queen and 3 sets of bunks. All beautifully appointed and comfortable for you to enjoy. The downstairs game room is full of leather sleepers, an 80 inch TV a pingpong table Foosball and dart board. There is another bedroom that offers additional sleeping and a downstairs full bath. The carpets are plush and the environment is inviting. We strive for quality in hopes that all of our guests have a terrific stay and a relaxing and enjoyable time. We want to provide you with a "no hassle" experience. It was very comfortable with 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The house and grounds were spacious. The little kids used the playground once, we used the fire pit once, kids played volleyball a few times, adults used the hot tub a few times, mostly it was a home base for other excursions in the Adirondacks. There was plenty of space inside the house and outside and is a great house for all groups. Everything listed on the house’s page was exactly how it was. It was great being within walking distance to town and only 10-15 minutes from Whiteface Mountain. Ann was a great host and was easy to get in touch with. I would rent again! ##### Dylan H. The house worked out great for our large group. There were enough bedrooms and beds in each room that accommodated our group well. The parking was really our only issue. There is only parking for 4 cars on premises. Anne gave us access to additional spots about a mile away. We cooked all of our meals in the house and the kitchen had everything we needed. Outdoor area was perfect with nice grill, beach volleyball court, and fire pit. Only downside was the town rule which prevented us from enjoying that outside area after 9 pm, but being a short walk into town helped alleviate that concern. ##### Sean S. This house was perfect for our trip. The owner is communicative and friendly. The house was clean with plenty of space to sleep, hang out, cook, and relax for all 12 of us. The kitchen was stocked with enough cooking supplies for us to work with and plenty of dishes and utensils. As an added bonus, the mattresses are so soft. We have never been to Lake Placid so had to rely on the descriptions and photos here. Everything was just as described. We had plenty of room and loved walking to town. We did not have to pack a lot due to how much was already at the house and the double washer and dryers. All ages 4 to 80 had a great time! Thank you so much! ##### Janine M. We stayed there as my son was getting married at St Agnes and it provided a wonderful time for him to spend with us and his siblings and nieces and nephews. It provided space for all to feel comfortable. It was clean, with areas to relax and just read ,grandchildren to play , and room for all to sit down at the table together for a wonderful meal. If you do not wish to cook plenty of restaurants available to dine in or pick up. The joy of Christmas was throughout the house . Beds where so comfortable as well. May 30, 2018 #### Love This House Our family was 25 so we didn't think we could find a house that would sleep all of us and be close to the Village. BUT we found one! And the price was affordable. (I hope they keep it that way) The outdoor amenities were super. WE had 9 kids under the age of 10 and they were kept busy! We adults played volley ball and then went into the hot tub at night. We stayed for a race weekend at VanHo with a large group of 16 (coaches and high school athletes). The "Christmas House" was a great place to stay. It was a great spot for a larger party. It had ample bedrooms with very comfortable beds.
