Staff were very efficient and polite. Gave some good places to visit in Stresa. The room was very small, one small chair and no table. Had to use floor to place luggage and belonging. Not a nice room, regretted staying at this hotel!

Fantastic family hotel!
Really lovely family hotel set just back from the main promenade in Stresa. Beautiful gardens and a really well kept and well run hotel. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. The pool area is secluded and very well managed. Our room was perfect, with a large terrace that had views of the lake and was bathed in sunshine for most of the day. Perfect!

Nice mid-range hôtel. Close to Carciano lido to get to the islands. Room was clean and bed was great. Staff at frontdesk was not super friendly, but other staff persons were really welcoming. Breakfast was very nice (fruits, excellent capuccino, and great deal of breads, cornetto, pancakes)

Construction noise from the house being built between the lake and this hotel, when that house is done, rest of the limited view of the lake is gone, at least from the room we stayed at. We could never figure what the noise from the walls was all night long (loud clicking type of sound, probably plumbing), but we slept very little during our one night there. Only stay during our one week vacation that I would not recommend.

Good location, good parking and good breakfast
Good location. The hotel is clean and bright. Breakfast is good and COVID procedures well managed and delivered. We booked a room with a balcony and lake view. This was in the roof and with hindsight we would have been better off with a normal room with a lake view. Bathrooms are very old but I understand that there are plans to upgrade them over the winter. Overall we enjoyed our stay but the hotel was a bit overpriced for the room we had.

Wonderful and clean hotel...cute room with balcony and lake view. Very convenient to all attractions. Bathroom was quite small and shower was tricky with step inside tiny tub/bath . Only hanging was an over the door hanger. Great breakfast and Elena was so very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay.

Very impressed with the service provided by the owners. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely room with view of the Lake. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast. All in all we had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would certainly like to return

A wonderful place to stay in Stresa
Very good location and the best customer service I have experienced at any hotel in Europe. David and Elena go the extra mile to make sure that questions are answered and things are taken care of. The quality and variety of the food at breakfast was great. Easy walk to the center of town and the boat dock along with quick access to the cable car up the mountain. Would definitely stay there again

We had a delightful time while staying at Hotel La Fontana. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Our room was spotlessly clean. White linen table clothes were always spotless at breakfast. Regardless if we ate early or late, there was always plenty. A villa that has been transformed into a warm friendly hotel. Plenty of free parking. Close to town and a great location. We will be back! Our stay at La Fontina was very nice! The hotel is a small boutique hotel. The staff was friendly & helpful. The location was great right along the lake. Next to many restaurants within a one minute walk. The beds were Very comfortable! I have a bad back & slept wonderfully! I’d definitely recommend this hotel. The only negative was the breakfast was 20 Euros for a buffet European style breakfast. Although it was more complete then others, that’s still a bit over the top.....

Excellent customer service mindset
Best customer service. The owner of the hotel is kind and gentle. Good breakfast. Good location. It is between train station and the center. Also good view - facing Lake Maggiore and quiet. This is the third time I have stayed in this hotel and are still satisfied with the customer service as well as the location. However I have noticed that the condition of hotel got older and may need refurbished. The toiletries provided in bathroom is less than in the past. In the past there was kettle, coffee and tea provided in the room and now no more.

Stressa is a beautiful place to stay with lots to do. Hotel was convenient, great breakfast and friendly host. Room had a large balcony with lovely views, bathroom a little cramped for my very tall husband and decor starting to age. We had wonderful weather and enjoyed the food and sights.

La Fontana a great place to stay.
We stayed at La Fontana for a week of repose and that is just what we got. Giuseppe and staff were a great hosts. You could not want a better place to stay. La Fontana is near the center of town. The surroundings are beautiful. We ate more than once at the Rosa dei Venti recommended to us by Giuseppe. The cuisine was of the locality and the flavors were great. In all we enjoyed 7 relaxed days.

We were greeted by a very friendly host, parking was a breeze, and the elevator was great to have. We were able to walk to the city center and yet not be right in it which was great. The only negatives were the heat in the room (could not turn down, making it difficult to sleep) and the rooster that woke us up at 4:30 in the morning, and did not stop until we checked out.

Perfect Italian hospitality near Lago Maggiore
Family run establishment, two mins away from the lake, very nice and friendly owner. Stresa is a very beautiful lake side small town in Northern Italy. I would encourage you to stay here rather than big hotels because it is here you will experience (at least I left) real hospitality. Nice breakfast. Try the walk next to the hotel (Via monte grappa) to go to old town (centro), very quiet and peaceful at night.

A lovely family run hotel in a good location
This was a lovely hotel in a good, quiet location, just five minutes walk from the centre of Stresa. Great service, a spacious room with a balcony with a lovely, albeit restricted view of the lake. The owner was incredibly grateful for me choosing his hotel which was really nice - it's not often you get thanked sincerely multiple times for choosing to stay at a hotel! The continental breakfast was great and had lots to choose from. The hotel had wifi although it wasn't very fast it was good enough for checking emails etc. would happily recommend and stay here again.

you can tell the owner has been running this hotel for a long time. Very hospitable. Delicious freshly baked goods everyday that you can smell in the afternoon. Breakfast is good. Internet in room is not so great but you get it in the Lounge. Great for a few days in the lakes

The owners charm and helfulness made up for rather basice facilities. Was quite inexpensive and overall value for money. Good convenient location with plenty of parking . Room was small with large terrace and breakfast was perfectly adequate.

Very disappointed. Walls were paper-thin, we could hear a neighbour snoring one night, and another neighbour walking around early the next morning. This was because the parquet floors are old and squeaky and you can hear every footstep your neighbours take. Beds old and uncomfortable. Bathroom terribly out of date. Not a place for relaxing or catching up on sleep. However, the breakfast was good, especially the freshly made coffee.

My favorite hotel during 16 days in Europe, 9-15.
The best part of this stay was how helpful, friendly, personable, funny and wonderful Mr. Josef Guiseppi, proprietor, was. He knows his hometown and surrounding area extremely well, and can give great advice about how to make the most of your available time in the Stresa area. The breakfast room, and breakfast itself, are wonderful, as are the premises and animals. Dogs, roosters, chickens and geese make their home on the La Fontana grounds. The fresh eggs at breakfast attest to their happiness. I can't overstate what a delight, and trip highlight, it was to make the brief acquaintance with a wonderful Italian gentleman.

Convenient location, just off the front. Parking on site. Our kids loved the resident cats and dogs, the owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast and pleasant atmosphere. Recommended!

Great stay for a couple nights in Stresa
La Fontana was an excellent value! The location was just a few blocks from the main drag in Stresa as well as the cable car. The facility was pretty retro with Giuseppe as one of the kindest proprietors you could hope for. The lake-facing balcony room was worth it, too, and the breakfast was excellent. We had a great time during our two-night stay.

The hotel was located close to the lake and only 10 minute walk to center of Stresa. The hotel owner, Giuseppi was extremely nice, spoke English and made us feel welcome. Great breakfast!
