Located in the spectacular mountain setting of "Riverbend", a gated mountain community with over 3,500 acres of pristine mountain beauty with two private lakes ,river ,waterfall, an old fashioned swimming hole. Great hiking surrounded by mountain views and abundant wild life. Walk down to the stream on property. Private and serene but 10 minutes from lake and riverside dining Minutes away from town of Chirmney Rock! Asheville and Hendersonville also nearby and offer great shopping/ dining/ activities as well! Riverbends' private beach at Mirror Lake has a fishing pier, a large pavilion overlooking the lake with rocking chairs and picnic tables as well as barbeque pits and beautiful mountain views (bathrooms also). Our canoes and kayaks are stored near the beach/lake. Walk across the road from the beach to the Broad River (with a waterfall and small rapids (perfect for tubing!). Enjoy fishing from the pier, swimming in the lake or playing in the river! Western North Carolina has so much to do! From Lake Lure beach which offers the Lake with a beautiful beach surrounded by spectacular views of the mountains and a children's play area with water slide, lifeguards on duty! Lake Lure was voted one of the most beautiful lakes in the country by National Geographic. There are a number of golf courses in area and also putt putt, tennis, horseback riding, a gem mine, hiking at Chimney Rock Park, zip lining, lake side and river side dining, white water rafting and much more. Nearby attractions include Asheville and Biltmore Estate and Winery, Blue Ridge Parkway, Hendersonville, numerous nearby winerie and breweries, including Crooked Tree and Parker Bins, Dollywood, Great Smokey National Park, Grandfather Mountain, Carowinds Amusement Park, Sliding Rock, North Carolina Arboretum and so much more. Also, nearby, newly built Tryon International Horse Equestrian Center. It is 15 miles away and has many restaurants and activities. Wintertime, visit nearby ski slopes and snow tubing. The lower deck has a large hot tub. The driveway is up a hill with parking for 3 to 4 cars. Liz has thought of everything beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds. I would recommend 4 wheel drive as driveway is slippery we needed it when it rained. We brought our little French Bulldog and she soooooo loved the deck, it has a locking gate that allowed her to enjoy the outdoors without concern of her curiosity tempting her to wander off. Liz was great accommodating late night arrivals for part of us. She was also awesome and in constant contact with us when power was lost due to a truck hitting a nearby power line. Even with unforseen situations out of her control, she was on the phone with the power company and we had power restored in about an hour. Thank you Liz😊 ##### Sherry M. I can't remember the description on the VRBO site, but basically I think the cabin and the description matched. I recall comments about the driveway, and indeed, it is very steep, but as long as you keep to the right hand side, it's doable. The deck was wonderful, and we sat there every morning. The weather was quite hot, but the A/C worked well. We were 5, but 8 could sleep comfortably as long as 6 of them are happy sharing queen size beds. If you have kids, there is one bunk bed for 2 kids (or adults). The cabin could use a few things. The kitchen needs bowls and teaspoons (there are 2 of each). The lighting in the main room is pretty dark, especially if you want to do a puzzle, but there isn't a good puzzle table anyway. We did a couple that we brought, but it meant we couldn't eat at the dining table. We had no issues, so didn't need to communicate with the owners. Had a hick up with lock box for key but was quickly corrected. Location was close to several adventure spots and local restaurants were very tasty and priced affordable. On cold days, the cabin was cozy to lounge in and sit by the indoor fireplace. dogs were happy as well. sooo relaxing! hosts also responded promptly when I had questions. ##### Shayna B.
