Thus "The Cabbage" This 2 bedroom 1 bath offers a peaceful retreat from the hurried life. The cabin is located across the street from Gray Lake , with lake views. A small public beach access is down the road. The Cabbage is Near Pere Marquette paved Rails to Trails, Lakeside Bar and Grill , and a historic General Store. There is also a coffee shop open in the summer season. The yard has a rustic firepit. There are 2 kayaks. There are two T.V.s - one in the twin room and one in the living room. There is Wi-FI. Rocko Tv and a DVD player with numerous videos. There are also games and cards for that rainy Day. Of which you'll love the sound of the rain on the metal roof. This Cabin was just renovated and June 1 2022 is its first debut. Bath towels and Bed Linens provided. For cooking there is a Microwave, hot plate, and a toaster oven. (We had very busy days scheduled all weekend away from this cabin.) The 1st night we arrived at 10pm and the place hadn’t been cleaned at all. Host took forever to reach and VRBO wouldn’t do anything in the meantime, but host covered a night in a sketchy hotel 25 minutes away. We got our 7-year olds to bed by 12am. We let our kids sleep a bit the next morning and missed half the day of the event we were in town for. Host confirmed the cabin had been cleaned that morning by about 11am or noon. We arrived back at the cabin that night again around 10pm. The cabin was cleaned, but there was an inch of water and sand backed up in the shower. Assuming maybe their septic is full. Let host know and nothing was done or offered for solution. Couldn’t shower the entire weekend, because none of us wanted to step into an inch of cold sandy water to shower. Reminded her it was backed up when we left and she responded, “Okay”. The location couldn’t be better! Not far from the stunning Sleeping Bear Dunes and the charming Fishtown, we found ourselves perfectly positioned to explore the beauty of the area. Our visit on July 11th, 2025, was quite warm, so we were especially grateful to step into a cool, air-conditioned haven upon our arrival. It was the perfect respite from the summer heat! We enjoyed our stay very much. The Cabbage is lovely, rustic, but well equipped and well decorated. We did not come across anything we needed that wasn’t there. A few things of note for the planning purposes of other travelers. The walls are very thin between bedrooms, as in wood slats that aren’t all tightly fitted (original I assume). There is no stove. There is another cabin fairly close on one side, and woods behind and on other side of cabin, and the backyard is pretty private overall. The cabin is across the road from the lake, and there are also houses on the other side of the road, so the picture out the front window on the listing is maybe old, because you are looking out at houses with the lake behind them. None of these were issues for us, we used the toaster oven and microwave and there is a hot plate. Lots of extra blankets, pillows, towels, etc. I was impressed with the level of thought put into what’s there and where it’s located. The info book is well put together and can easily be referred to for most questions regarding how to control heat, etc. We would recommend and return! ##### Sherry M.
