The Silo at The Hayloft |Historic Home |Pool |Gym |Pool Table |Near Lake, Pumpkin Patch & Winterfest
The Hayloft delivers a charming, peaceful lodging solution for smaller groups looking to escape the daily grind for our popular resort town. Located on the southern side of Geneva Lake, the historic building offers a quiet "away from it all' experience while being just 3.5 miles from all that downtown Lake Geneva has to offer. Short drive to downtown to enjoy the beach, shopping, or grab a bite to eat. Looking to trailer in a boat? The Hayloft offers plenty of parking and the public launch is just a hop, skip and a jump down South Lake Shore Drive. The appeal does not stop when the weather changes. Fall travelers get a chance to take in the stunning color changes via a hike on the shore path (22 miles all the way around!) or a guided boat tour. The area offers an array of other fun fall activities, including ziplining and visiting area pumpkin patches and corn mazes. The ice castles, Winterfest (National Snow Sculpting Competition) and multiple area ski-hills make for the perfect short getaway during the colder months- not to mention, plenty of unique local options to check out for food and drink!
This second-floor unit has been face lifted with today's traveler in mind. It features one bedroom (King), a bathroom (Shower only, no bathtub), an additional full-sized sleeper sofa- a perfect sleeping option for younger travelers, AND a twin bed in the silo (MUST CLIMB METAL LADDER TO ACCESS THE SILO BED). In total, the condo can comfortably accommodate Five vacationers. While there is not an oven or dishwasher, guests will find a kitchenette-type set-up including an electric stove top, mini-fridge, toaster, and coffee maker. Strong internet and a TV with streaming capability also make this cozy unit perfect for extended stays or remote workers! Don't miss your chance to see why the feedback on the Hayloft has been so strong and guests return year-after-year.
STAY IN A PIECE OF LAKE GENEVA HISTORY:
Dating back to the early 1900's, the historical significance of the Hayloft serves as a complement to Lake Geneva's already interesting past. Originally the Loramoor Estate, the once owner, James R. Moore used the main house as his personal getaway from Chicago. An avid horseman, he converted one of the outbuildings to stables with apartments on the upper level to house his horse caretakers and built other structures on the property including servants quarters, greenhouses, and an ice house. At one point, there were 140 men employed at the property! Sadly, the main house met its end in the 1980s, and many of the buildings have been converted to personal homes. The stables have since been restored to be the beautiful Hayloft Lodge we know today. Although some aspects have changed, much of the historical charm lives on!

Our room actually included the silo of the barn in this remolded and repurposed building. It made for a super fun layout. It was plenty of room for 2 adults, but 4 adults would have been a bit cramped. The twin bedroom in the loft made by the silo was very fun, but accessed by a steep, but secure, ladder. Anyone using that bed would need to be agile enough to use the ladder in the middle of the night in case they needed to use the bathroom. There were only 2 of us so we didn’t use that space, but something to think about if your party needs to use that bed . The unit was very clean and nicely decorated. Though we didn’t swim, the pool on the property was very nice. There is a billiard table in a common space in the basement that we did not use either. Our room was very quiet and we never heard any other guests or tenants. The location was very accessible to Lake Geneva but away from all of the hustle and bustle of the tourist traps around the lake. I would definitely stay there again.
The place was clean and perfectly located — close enough to the water but tucked away from the busy parts of town. It was easy to get everywhere we needed, and the home was well stocked with everything for a comfortable stay. Perfect spot for a quick weekend getaway!
Cute accommodations. Unique layout with the galley kitchenette, angled ceilings, and silo loft. Was clean and well appointed. Quiet and easy to find. FYI, we didn't see an elevator on the property, so may not be suitable for people with limited mobility. Would recommend, especially for a small family.
Everything went well. Accommodations were comfortable and clean. Loft area would be great in winter, but a little warm in the summer. A/C in main area worked great. Much nicer than a hotel room. Pool lookednice, but we did not take a dip. We would definitely stay again!
The apartment looked like the pictures. It would be cramped with more than 2 people. I had trouble getting into the unit because I was not given the code to the lock, although I was given the code to the building door. The nightly rate should be less after some amenities aren't available, i.e. pool. Nevertheless it served the purpose of our visit.

Cute, but buggy
This condo is super cute and great for a short girls trip. There were many bugs (ear wigs, moths, spiders, etc) in the unit. We were not able to sleep in the loft because of the bugs. When I messaged the host upon check out they responded with “thanks for the feedback”. If you are planning to make food, be sure to bring or buy food storage containers as the only provided dishes are post, pans, and table ware. There also is no dishwasher in the unit even though there were dishwasher pods left for us and on the check in and check out procedures it is listed as available.
