Picturesque, but avoid during special events
This hotel is located in a very picturesque setting, and our room offered a beautiful view of the lake. The first night of our stay we enjoyed a most excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant. Quite romantic. However, we were not so fortunate the second night of our stay, as a wedding was taking place on the property in the afternoon and evening. The music was loud, the guests were too. Even sitting in our room, the noise was too much to bear. it did not quiet down until after midnight. Nonetheless, we would enjoy staying at this hotel again, and recommend it to others, but we will avoid ever doing so, if there is an event taking place during the dates we're in the area.

Poor service, overcharged for meals and outdated.
We stayed for one night here and the rooms are very dated. The views were nice but you are very far from the lake. It's also difficult to find, as both our gps and google maps couldn't direct us there. Turns out we still had 2km hike to go until reaching it. In the morning, we were up at 7:30 and went down for breakfast and to check out at 8:00am. There was literally nobody working there yet. All doors were locked! We had to get out of there pretty quickly to make it to our next destination, so this was rather annoying, especially when not given a heads up. We also ate dinner there the night before that. When we asked for the bill, they said it would be charged to the room. Being trusting Canadians, we though nothing of it. Upon checkout, our bill for dinner was 20+ euros higher than what we actually ordered! The worst part is it is a different person on checkout with limited English, so we basically had to suck it up, pay it and chalk it up to a loss. I think it's worth looking into other hotels in this area instead, even if it costs a little more.

Location & Outlook great
Enjoyed our stay, great location if you have a car as we did. Very friendly helpful staff. Only criticism would be was very noisy upstairs in room - doors banging, voices loud & echoing. Enjoyed our meal in their restaurant - top class food.

Nice, inviting place.
A small family run hotel overlooking lake Como. Nicely remodeled old building, all modern fixtures. Short drive from the Swiss border (upon crossing which you would pay double for similar accommodations and triple for an espresso). Highly recommended.

Fantastic location with wonderful views
Firstly, the hotel is 3km from turning off the main road. We used satnav to find it, but the address indicated it was located closer than this - took us quite a while to find it! Small family run hotel, recently refurbished to a very good standard. Restaurant was lovely, particularly in the conservatory, but given the earlier reviews, we were disappointed with regard to the food. The starters were lovely, onion salad cake and pizzoccheri del locanda(buckwheat pasta). My husband's venison was good however my duck breast was very tough, but despite leaving some, and telling the the waiter, he apologised but nothing was done about it. The owner speaks no English, but the waiters who did and was very helpful in providing us with an adaptor for the new plugs(3-pin!). Extensive wine list with some eye-watering prices. We felt the meal was overpriced for what we had - 2 starters,2 main courses, a bottle of water and a "cheap" bottle of wine (less than 25€) came to 103€. We had many other good meals around the Italian lakes at a significantly lower cost.

Great location, if you dont' mind a steep drive
This is a lovely place with great service and a beautiful view of the lake. The restaurant is also good, with very helpful service. The only caveat is that it is up a steep hill with hairpin turns. But for the intrepid, it's a beautiful location.

Out of the way but a wonderful view
We had an EXTREMELY difficult time finding this hotel. When we called the staff to ask for directions, nobody spoke enough English or could understand my broken Italian to give proper directions. When we eventually found it, the girl at the front desk wasn't particularly welcoming. In fact, she was a little standoff-ish. When we got up to our room, it was clean and large. The bathroom was quite small. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. We couldn't have stayed there for more than one night. The food, however, was amazing. The restaurant on site was possibly some of the best food we had during our vacation. Staff is friendly and helpful. The wine cellar in the basement is a must! Their sommelier is knowledgeable and friendly! We had an early flight out of Milan the next morning and tried to check out at 8 AM and there was no staff anywhere to be found at the hotel. In fact, all of the doors were locked. We had to leave a note in order to check out. Overall, I think there might be a better hotel in the area but I wouldn't be opposed to staying there one more night just for the food.

Nicht gefallen hat , das vier Tage kein Internet zur Verfügung stand , die Parkplätze meist durch Einheimische belegt waren, das TV zu klein war und nur Italienische Sender zur Verfügung standen , das Frühstück entsprach nicht der normalen internationalen Klasse. Eher Standart An den Sonn und Feiertagen ist das Hotel mit Leuten aus den Ortschaften sehr stark besucht ,offensichtlich können die Einheimischen den teuren Wein und Essen locker bezahlen . Wir leider nicht . Ich hoffe nur das meine Abbuchung der Hotelkosten von meiner Kontokarte funktioniert hat , denn dieses Teil von Kartenleser war auch defekt . Wir kommen nicht mehr wieder . Bonne étape au calme pour apprécier le lac de Côme
L'hôtel est situé sur les hauteurs de Argegno, belle vue sur le lac de Côme. Bon accueil, surclassement dans une suite.Bonne literie, mobilier un peu vieillot, beau point de vue depuis le balcon. Petit-déjeuner buffet de qualité, bons produits. Restaurant réputé, bonne nourriture.Parking disponible. Endroit très calme.

Det underbart, mysigt litet ställe med mkt charm, fantastisk mat och en otrolig utsik. Rummet var väldigt rena och fräscha o likaså toaletten. Det krävs dock att du har bil, om du inte vill traska hela vägen upp för den långa o galet branta backen. Har du bil är avstånden inte så långa, du tar dig när på fantastiska vägar både runt sjön men även till Schweiz. De har dock ingen luftkonditionering (vilket det står på nätet) men vi upplevde att det var inga problem, rummen var ändå svala, framförallt nattetid (slutet av juli).

En charmigt boende uppe i bergen ovanför Argegno. Hotellet har en bra restaurang. Vi gick den gamla åsnestigen rakt ner till Argegno. det tog 20 minuter ner, men 45 minuter upp igen!

Super autentisk hotel, kanon god mad med super udsigt udover Comosøen. Lidt svært at finde og en lidt hård gåtur frem og tilbage fra søen! Der kommer mange lokale og spiser på restauranten, hvilken blot understreger kvaliteten.

Superb view and surroundings, but bumpy access to parking lots pose a threat to your car. Reception lukewarm - at best. Staff was unable to serve the two main dishes at the same time (time lag 5 minutes) and to properly attend to the cooking time of the meat as requested when ordering. Only breakfast staff was at the same time dedicated to preparing good cappuccino and to cleaning the adjacent dining room.

Empfangsdame an der Rezeption war in keinster Weise höflich oder freundlich. Auch der Empfang am ersten Tag unfreundlich. Wollten wir eine 2.Tasse Kaffee zum Frühstück mussten wir das Service Personal suchen. Nicht zu empfehlen. Lediglich der junge Mann abends im Service des Hotelrestaurants war freundlich , zuvorkommend , höflich.

Vi anlände hit vår första natt i Italien. Allt var perfekt, maten, vinet, det fina huset, läget och de vänliga ägarna! Vi vaknade på morgonen till en slående vy av Comosjön! Jag kan absolut rekommendera hotellet till alla som vill se Como men komma bort från vimlet av människor och bilar och se Como ovan ifrån!

Hôtel situé sur les hauteurs du lac de Côme avec vue magnifique, cadre très verdoyant. Accueil très sympathique. Chambres propres et confortables. Nous avons dîné au restaurant nous étions 4 avec des plats différents et tout était délicieux avec en fin de repas un Limoncello offert... Le petit déjeuner pris sous la terrasse baignée de soleil avec de bonnes viennoiseries, du salé, très copieux, le tout très appétissant. Mais il a fallu repartir car ce n'était qu'une étape d'une nuit. Nous recommandons vivement cet endroit authentique

My wife and I have been travelling around northern lakes for a week in May 2014. Among all places, we liked our stay at Locanda Sant'Anna most of all. We have been offered an upgrade to suite for a very attractive price - and have been fascinated with the view from the balcomy (you can see this balcony on second floor on the main photo of the hotel). When the sun is rising in the morning, there is a fantastic view to the lake and the mountains. The only issue is the road to this place (narrow mountainous road), and the signs to this hotel are not visible from the road - so we had to ask for directions. Nevertheless, we put this place a firm 5 - with great pleasure.

Très bon accueil et très bon service. Chambres vastes et propres. Restauration irréprochable. Seul bémol : la mauvaise isolation phonique des chambres.
