If you stay at this hotel, you are paying for location and a nice breakfast buffet. You are in close walking distance to several beautiful beaches and the breakfast buffet includes a nice spread. But in terms of service and room quality, we were disappointed with our stay. When we arrived at the hotel for check-in, we were told to wait 30 minutes. When we came back, the reception staff told us that the lock on the door was broken and they had sent someone into town to buy a new lock and replace it. They could not give us a time certain when the door would be fixed and the only other room they would offer us was a downgrade from what we had booked. The hotel did not offer any kind of compensation for this significant inconvenience. I did ask for compensation during check-out and was told that management would be in contact with me. I have not yet heard back. On top of that, we would have to wait in a line every time we needed to speak with reception staff - as there was only one person staffing the front desk for a sizable hotel. As to our room, it was nice to have a spacious apartment accommodation as opposed to your typical hotel. That said, the TV was broken and the walls were VERY thin. We were woken up nightly by a crying baby on a separate floor from us. This did detract from our stay.
The Costa D’oiro Ambiance Village hotel is a charming property situated in Algarve , the heart of Lagos region. The property …More
Enjoyed Dom Pedro. The rooms were great. The beach was lovely and the view from our balcony magnificent. The hotel staff were vey helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The mini bus in to town was good. The return journey was a bit confusing. We did some grocery shopping in town and walked back and found it to be no big deal
We have just returned from a great week. Inn Seventies is a great place to stay. Right in the heart of Lagos. The rooms are large and clean. the roof top breakfast has lots of choice and such a beautiful setting to start your day. Anna is very helpful and always around if you need help.
It is 5 mins walk from the free car park into the town. 10 mins walk to the beach. 10 mins walk to train station where you can travel to Faro / Portimao. There are boat trips and lovely costal walks.
We hired a car but you could stay for a week and not need one.
There are so many restaurants, shops, cafes, it is a beautiful city.
Top tip ;- If you are hiring a car from the airport do your reserch as to where to park to access Lagos. You cannot drive in as its car free so you need to find the car park and do the short walk in. Not a problem once you get your bearings.
Only negative is dont expect a swimming pool on the roof it is just a paddling pool, but gives a lovely setting for breakfast and when you go up in the evening for a drink and people watch - great fun !!!
The region’s top resort, Lagos packs in history, character and wonderful beaches. The old centre, partly walled, features local shops next to fashionable restaurants and nightspots, favoured by independent travellers as well as package holidaymakers. The Algarve’s best museum, a gilded chapel, a sea fort and various monuments recall the town’s heyday. Its beaches range from a broad, long town beach to picture-postcard coves close by.
