The hacienda is located just outside of La Ribera, a quaint traditional Mexican fishing village an hours drive north of San Jose Del Cabo airport. This is the ideal location for a relaxing vacation away from the fast pace of everyday life. La Ribera is home to a number of small family run restaurants, grocery stores and shops. The locals are very friendly and helpful. We do recommend a rental car due to the distance of the local amenities and attractions in the area. Working with an award winning architect and builder the house was created to reflect the finest in Mexican style, which is apparent throughout. The hacienda has been created with comfort and convenience in mind with traditional architecture, Mexican finishes such as Talavera tile and a spacious interior that opens out to a large veranda and welcoming non heated pool. In 2024 we added a new hot tub which will be on complementary for 4 hours per day. Additional time can be added if you desire at and extra cost of $20 US dollars per hour. The two master suites have luxurious king size beds with perfect views of the Sea of Cortez through the expansive sliding glass doors. Each bedroom has a large adjoining bathroom that has a walk in shower with a bench, as well as a double vanity. The sliding glass doors can be left open at night allowing you to fall asleep to the gentle sound of the lapping waves. The third bedroom has two queen size beds and a large walk in closet. this bedroom also has views of the sea of Cortez with is own sliding glass door and small private patio. The adjoining bathroom has a double vanity and large walk in shower with a bench. The large central great room is perfect for gatherings. The seating area provides for easy conversation and there is a television and DVD player with a large variety of movies. The professional, chef designed kitchen is spacious and comfortable. allowing guests to gather during food preparation and dining, as there is island seating for 6. The dining room has a large table seating 8 . The veranda spans one entire side of the house, with fantastic views of the Sea of Cortez. This is where the pool and gas fire-pit are located, where you can spend many relaxing hours during the day and night. A sun sheltered outdoor dining area is another option for enjoying the tranquility of Hacienda del Sol. If you enjoy cooking on the BBQ, there is a large outdoor gas grill only steps away from the kitchen. The world renowned Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park with its spectacular living coral reef and abundant marine life is located 16 miles south of La Ribera. There is a small village with facilities that can set up dive tours, and provide diving and snorkeling equipment if you do not have your own. There are also a few small restaurants in Cabo Pulmo. Twenty five miles north of La Ribera is the tourist town of Los Barriles where wind surfing and Sailing are popular sports November thru to March. There are restaurants, shops, and hotels, as well as a larger grocery store. Love music and art festivals can occur during the tourist season. The Sea of Cortez is one of the best bodies of water for fishing in the world. Locals and tourists alike love to seek out the RoosterFish from the shore. There are also Sierra, Dorado, Marlin, Red Snapper and Tuna that are popular catches with the fishermen. If you prefer, arrangements can be made for a panga boat to pick you up directly in front of the hacienda for a day of ocean fishing. Charter boats are also available for hire. We can also arrange for a home chef service, daily housekeeping, groceries deliveries, ATV rentals, horse back riding or a relaxing poolside massage. Theses can all be arranged prior to your arrival. There would be additional fees for these arrangements. Gina was quick to respond to all questions we had prior to the trip. Upon arrival we were taken away by the gated entry and visual of house / backdrop of ocean. The house itself was comfortable and had everything we needed, including any and all beach toys imaginable. The beach itself was beautiful and relatively deserted. People are around, but very few. We did day trips to Santiago and Los Barriles; had a dinner at the Four Seasons, and also had a delicious meal prepared by Ramon. We paddleboarded in the ocean, fished (and caught!) from the beach, and went on shell hunts. We can’t wait to come back and explore more of La Ribera and the East Cape. Too windy to hang out on the beach, but great location for diving at Cabo Pulmo and other excursions. Surprisingly good restaurants in La Rivera and two great meals supplied by Lucy at the house. We practically had the beach to ourselves the whole time & we went in the water every day. The sunsets were a particularly stunning time to be in the water. It’s a bit of a drive to Cabo/back but there are plenty of good restaurants closer by. The house has everything you could possibly want. We had a fabulous stay! ##### Lisa G. Our friends, another couple, joined us for our stay. Where to begin? The home is amazing! Location is perfect! Gina was a pleasure to work with from accommodating our requests to stocking the home with food. Additionally, Ramon and Lucy made us dinner multiple evenings. Best decision we made. The beach is wide and flat, perfect for long walks. Secluded for peace and quiet but close enough to La Ribera and Los. Barriles. Ramon was very friendly and helpful. She made us feel welcomed with little unexpected extras. The house is clean and fully stocked. Beds are as comfortable as a 5 star hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious. Access to the beach it right outside the back door. The spa and pool are clean and in working order. The property manager Ramon was available for anything we needed.
