Welcoming, private spaces inspire a deep sense of calm, while the common areas invite everyone to mingle and lounge. The Space: Removed from the street by the length of a spacious, 3-car garage, the house sports a big patio surrounded by (and connected with) the living room, dining room, and master bedroom. The patio sports a pool, bbq grill, an outdoor dining room, and a hammock and rocking chairs. There is also a sun area on a raised dais, that overlooks the patio area. Stocked with plush cushions, it is an excellent place to sunbathe sipping a cool drink or take an afternoon siesta. Guest Access: Guests have access to all areas of the house, which include the bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, outdoor patio and garage, and laundry room with a washer and drier. There are air conditioning units in every room of the house. We take pride in using non-toxic cleaning supplies, providing a healthier and more natural alternative, while being just as effective to synthetic-based conventional cleaners. We are making efforts towards water conservation in La Paz. We are adopting water-efficient technologies, growing mostly native vegetation in our decorative gardens, promoting responsible water usage, and building urban rainwater capture basins. Finally, we provide canvas grocery bags you can use in your trips to the local stores, farmer’s and fish markets. The Neighborhood: The neighborhood overall is very quiet. The seaside promenade is about a minute’s walk from the house. Only a block away is our favorite breakfast place, María California. Within the same radius are two great restaurants: La Casita, an excellent place with tasty salads and entrees and a nice patio bar, and Dulce Romero, a hip, organic sandwich shop and bakery. There is also a great butcher shop nearby where you can buy excellent meats in case you want to have a cookout. Casa Oasis is the perfect place to explore Baja California Sur’s only true Mexican city, set like a pearl in the crown of the Bay of La Paz. Your days can be spent wandering the shops and markets, strolling the Malecón or heading to the islands for scuba diving, snorkeling, or playing with the sea lion cubs. Getting Around: From the La Paz airport: You can take a taxi or rent a car.\* To the boardwalk restaurants, bars, downtown and main square where the cathedral and plaza are located, the farmer´s market, municipal market and supermarket: All are at WALKING DISTANCE. To the outlying beaches: You can drive, or take a taxi, or a tour. If you take a taxi, do not forget to arrange your return or ask him to wait for your.\* General Notes: •You can take the public bus one block from the house. •And you can take UBER to go to everywere (except the airport). \*We can make arrangements with reliable drivers without extra costs. Other Things to Note: Casa Oasis offers a lot of privacy. It is located in the interior of the block, connected to the street by a spacious 2-3 car garage. It is in a very quiet and easygoing neighborhood. It’s worth mentioning that the next-door neighbors own a pair of roosters, in the vein of a widespread La Paz culture of having chickens in the backyard. You can often hear their crowing at first light, which may wake a light sleeper. The pool is not heated! Property is central (2 blocks to Malecon) and well appointed and clean. Check in and check out was simple. Google maps got us straight to the front door. The host was great and was responsive to requests. Only negative was the lack of a functioning coffee maker which was frustrating. Plenty of options for coffee nearby but as we woke up early for excursions we went without one day. Highly recommend a Malecon walk in the evening, the whale shark experience, the roof top deck/bar of the Baja Club Hotel for sunset (unfortunately no minors), and waking up early to see Balandra Beach. ##### Michael A. From restaurants, breakfast places, and coffee shops ... to Tours to different islands or beaches you can visit for a day. Just follow the their Guest Book - and you're good hands! It's cool when it's hot outside, it's warm when the evening cools down. There is plenty of lounging space for everyone. My favorite was the pool side elevated bed! I loved the charchol bbq, we had shrimp from the near by market and got some excellent steak from the butcher a short walk away. The casa is close to the boardwalk but the real jems are the small local shops and restaurants besdie and behind the casa. All the local folks in the area were super friendly( including Greg, the neighbor, who you can find out sweeping the sidewalk early in the morning). My husband and I chose La Paz for our 25th wedding anniversary because we had a dream to swim with whale sharks- and wanted to get to the Baja coast of Mexico. We were looking for a beautiful property and every one of the El Cirio properties were my first picks and it was tough to decide! We chose Casa Oasis and were not disappointed! Bedrooms, bathrooms, amenities, kitchen- everything at this property is 5 stars! And Ana- the property Manager could not have been better! Anything you need to know, she was there! And she created an amazing guide book for where to go, what restaurants to visit, what beaches and how far away they were- everything! I would recommend renting a car - we drive to lots of beaches, and went to Todo Santos (about an hour away) where the Hotel California is and is a beautiful town- on our way to Cabo San Lucas. The surrounding neighborhood at first isn’t ‘wealthy’- when you first drive there it might seem downtrodden but it was completely safe and the local food and folks are lovely! It was one of the things we loved actually. Our visit was slightly tarnished by Hurricane Norma- flights were originally canceled 😞 , there were National guard everywhere cleaning up, roads were a mess, no whale sharks, and yet we still had a wonderful time! Coming back to our beautiful Oasis was wonderful!! One more tip- no one in Mexico stops at stop signs!! And if someone wants to drive faster than you, just let them pass! Location is good, close to the Malecon and the center of town. The indoor/outdoor living spaces were fantastic. Even though the property is open concept, there were plenty of nooks to sit in for a quite moment. Would absolutely book again! ##### Andrea M. This was my second stay at Casa Oasis and its as if I never left. If your travel plans find this property available I recommend you reserve it now, you won’t find a better value in La Paz! This was our first time staying here and we’re already planning a trip back. Everything was clean and beautifully presented. There were two, very detailed folders with all the necessary information (and then some) included. 3 bedroom and 3 baths worked out perfectly for 4 guests. We now want to landscape our backyard the exact same way. Not only is the property in an ideal location walking distance to the malecón and restaurants and bars, it is incredibly well appointed. The furnishings, linens and towels are all of the highest quality and the place is beautifully decorated in colorful Venetian plaster walls. The pool area is quiet and relaxing. It's clean, modern, with all the amenities. The outdoor space is gorgeous and the best part of the house. We also loved how convenient this house is to everything. We didn't use our car once when we were here. Check in and out was easy. Ana Carolina even stopped by to give us a gift of homemade soap and a candle. Both boys had their own rooms and bathrooms. Kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of places to lounge both in the house and outside. We enjoyed using the pool to cool off at the end of the day and even slept out under the stars on the daybed. Very easy to access the Malecon along with shops and restaurants. Felt very secure in the home. Extensive list of recommendations for eating, shopping and touring provided as well. Enjoyed our stay and hope to return!! ##### hillary H.
