Villa Flora is a set in a quiet area of Lajares. It has all the home comforts you could wish for in a large modern property but with its own with rustic charm.It is set on a large tree screened private plot. The detached quality villa with four bedrooms and three bathrooms is ideally located at the end of a quiet lane in the Canarian village of Lajares in the north of the island of Fuerteventura. Lajares is just few minutes drive to the sea in three directions. The 8 X4 mtrs pool is salt water for health and added comfort, fully tiled, and heated throughout the year The villa can accommodate up to 9 guests comfortably. The master bedroom has a large en-suite with both shower and bath, it has its own east facing patio where you can sit watching the rising sun and has views of the surrounding volcanoes whilst enjoying an early morning breakfast and coffee. The second bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. Bedrooms three and four are shared by a further bathroom. There is a child's ceot and a high chair for our young guests and also a selection of pool and beach toys to keep the children amused. The freshly fitted kitchen is well equipped and with fixed outside BBQ has everything you need for preparing meals for dining al fresco in the tranquil garden. The living area has seating for 8 guests and a TV for those evenings when you just want to watch a movie or UK and other european language TV. A smart speaker is available with both Bluetooth and radio. Full high speed fibre optic WiFi with access outside and in most rooms. Villa Flora is fully equipped and comfortable for any length of stay. The southerly facing private saltwater heated pool (of which guests have sole use) is a dreamy place to unwind and relax on one of the pool loungers. Beach towels are provided for use by the pool or to take to the beach. The terrace provides shelter from the sun, and the garden is awash with flowering climbers, huge cacti and has views over the volcanic terrain and mountainous landscape To the rear (west facing) there is a second terrace- a perfect place for an evening BBQ, with a drink in hand , whilst taking in the atmospheric views of the extinct volcanoes and the breathtaking sunsets. The local area has all the activities you could wish for from walking and mountain biking through the extinct volcanoes to surfing and windsurfing on the nearby coast. Parking is available within the walled and gated grounds Lajares is a relaxed multicultural village in the north of the island, with a great combination of locals, and holiday makers enjoying this delightful and unspoilt area of Fuerteventura. The centre of Lajares is a 10 minute walk away from the villa and there you can find a choice of restaurants, pizzerias where you can dine and surfer bars to enjoy a few evening beers, there is a very well stocked supermarket for supplies, as well as a pharmacy, a lace- making atelier, a beauty salon, hairdresser, a cake shop and several boutiques including one selling shoes. There is also a market on Saturday mornings where you will find local produce and handmade goods. The nearest eating establishment is less than 5 minutes walk away. A hire car is recommended on Fuerteventura as there is so much to see in and around the Island. A taxi can be called from the villa should you wish not to drive. Villa Flora is just a 10 minute drive to the secluded and atmospheric beaches of the North Coast, as well as the delightful fishing village of Cotillo with its local artist shops, cobbled streets, bars and restaurants most overlooking the coast. The tourist town of Corralejo with all the attractions and conveniences you may desire is just 6 miles away. Villa Flora is a great place to relax and unwind making you feel you are really on holiday.It is a an ideal place for a family holiday and a base for exploring the island. We live a few minutes walk away and are available if required to give you suggestions as to where to go for dinner or which beach to choose. Wheelchair access is possible as the surrounds of the property are flat and a ramp could be provided up from the car parking. Please note the following:- The property is non-smoking. Communication with Martin was Excellent from start to finish. 7 of us stayed very comfortably here. You have a bright new fully fitted kitchen along with the lovely wood features and marble floors, gives it a modern but yet still Spanish look. We had a balcony from our room, which I went out onto every night and saw shooting stars. (No air con unfortunately but fans provided in every room) We spent hours in the pool which was cleaned twice during our stay. We would then go and drink around the back where they had a nice seating area and watch the superb sunsets. It’s a gated property with a few other villas around you so you feel safe. You can walk into Lajares from the villa or about 15 minutes in the car to Corralejo which is very busy at night time full of restaurants and shops, or in the day a beautiful beach. We found Lajares as a quiet, nice rural area. We felt very private and secure in the Villa, we made full use of the swimming pool and the rest of the facilities provided. The property is very welcoming and well designed to accommodate 8 people. The pool is extremely good and the salt rather than chlorine is much better. You feel you are living within the local community as neighbours go about their daily lives, but it was quiet throughout. Provision of fans for every bedroom was a much needed bonus. The kitchen is well provisioned with washer, dishwasher cooker etc and the appliances all appeared new or nearly new. We enjoyed the cleanness, the fully equipped kitchen and the various places to sit outside like on the patio in front of the entrance, at the back of the house which is the best place to enjoy sunset or to barbecue, or on the first floor outside the master bedroom overviewing old volcano cones. Dishwasher and washing machine made the vacation easier. During the 2 weeks end of January we spent there, temperatures dropped at night to about 13°C, which resulted in indoor temperatures of about 19°C. Because Spanish houses in the south have rarely heating systems, the owner offered us an electric heater. What else is newsworthy ? Apparently the stove had been cleaned so vigorously that the signs of the switches were wiped off. The nice fireplace in the living room has a sign that it is a forgery. The finca is located in the village Lajares, in the northern part of the isle, and is surrounded by a neighborhood with similar houses. A supermarket and nice mid-level restaurants are in the vincinity. By car, which is a necessity, the dunes and beaches of Corralejo and beaches elsewhere are in a 20-30 minutes drive range. If one likes to get rid of some calories from the breakfast, a hike to the near by Calderon Hondo is a nice experience. The owner lives in walking distance. He was very helpful and questions were answered instantaneously. All-in-all the finca is a clear recommendation and gets a definite thumb up ! ##### Hildegard G. Die Vermieter eine Strasse weiter sind sehr nett und Hilfsbereit. Leider sind ausnahmslos alle Sitzmöbel, vom Sessel über die Stühle bis zu den Liegen extrem unbequem. Und die Armeisen sind eine echte Plage, in allen Schränken, sogar bis in die Dusche ... Das Haus ist bis zu neun Leuten belegbar, leider gibt es nur für fünf ausreichend Geschirr. ##### Stephan M. Villa Flores is a really lovely property to relax in, well laid-out, ensuring that guests have their own space, not feeling cramped. The kitchen has everything you need. The BBQ on the rear terrace is great! Lazing around the pool, followed by lunch on the under-cover terrace is how we spent the early afternoons. Later on, the rear terrace was the ideal place for sundowners with the most spectacular sunsets. Upstairs is a spacious bedroom with terrace, and the large bathroom has a window showing a fabulous view. It’s only 15 minutes’ drive to a variety of white sandy beaches at El Cotillo. Lajares has a real laid-back, surfer feel to it. There are some great places to have a range of meals; breakfast is good at los Pirates, which also serves great steaks and barbecued chicken. A favourite was Rojo Tomate, very rustic traditional Italian feel and the food was amazing and well-priced. The French bakery is really good for fresh baguettes and pastries. Sue and Martin couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. They are very welcoming hosts.
