It was Close enough to UCSD for the purpose of our trip. The neighborhood was not the best. The 7-11 sign is very bright all night long. There is a bar whose parking backs up to this property. There were several nights closing time got loud (2am). We did not have the luxury of sleeping in. Plus there is no AC so for comfort we had to leave the windows open. Super close to the ocean and walkable into downtown La Jolla and Bird Rock. The washer and dryer were great. Cons: Beware, this studio sits on a very busy and noisy alley. There was noise 24 hours each day. We had construction workers working on the small stuido next to us during our entire stay which was pretty disruptive. The space was small, as described but I found it to be perfect for my 3 week stay. You can't beat the location - 3 blocks from the ocean and walking distance to a lot of good food and coffee spots. My Rav4 fit perfectly in the carport and I never had an issue getting in or out. I also had a midstay clean done and it was awesome. I never heard my neighbors and the street was quiet the entire time I was there. Only a few things I'd note which are:1\. The sugar ants are very real. Anything not sealed completely will attract them. Knew this going in but still had a few times where they showed up. 2\. I didn't need AC to be comfortable at all, but I did need the windows and doors open to get the breeze. On the days I was out, it was really really warm and I had to leave the sliding door open to make sure that my dog didn't overheat in the unit. 3\. The desk is on a wall without a 3 prong outlet. Probs not a big deal for a short stay, but made working at the desk impossible for me. Would absolutely stay here again! ##### Madeline M. Negatives were the lockbox didn't work (WD-40?) which detained our entry by about 45 minutes, sliding glass door to patio stuck considerably, light bulb missing from lamp nearest the door, toilet paper fixture kept falling down; however, these were minor compared to the location, dog-friendliness and general appearance. It was cozy and comfortable--but it might be a little too cozy for that long of a time :) But the location was absolutely marvelous. Beach, check. Groceries, check. Bars, check. Restaurants, check. Downtown shopping, check. Farmers market, check--all easy walking distance. We loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return (maybe not quite a whole month though). ##### Mary H.
