While surfing is permitted, swimming and beach side enjoyment is solely dependent on tide levels and current. Summer is typically best for low tide beach access directly in front of our home. Beach access involves moderate bluff climbing. You must be at least 30 years old to rent this home. If all guests are adults, all guests must be over the age of 30, excluding families. Neighborhood Notes: This home is located in Windansea, a prestigious La Jolla neighborhood. Windansea Beach is directly south of La Jolla village in San Diego. Perfect long weekend at the beach! Escaping the snow and seeing palm trees, blue skies, and gorgeous sunsets is good for the soul. This beach house had the most unbelievable views and was in a perfect location. My son and I chilled and watched the surf, while my wife and daughter enjoyed the contemporary art museum and shopping in La Jolla. This beach house has amazing outdoor spaces--the last thing we wanted was to be cooped up in a glass/concrete box, so this house was perfect. Even when we were inside we could open up the dutch door, windows, and french doors to the deck--hear the ocean, take in the salt air. I think there is as much outdoor living square footage as there is interior living space. And the outdoor spaces were completely private, so we could let the dog run around without any worries. Garage parking, great local restaurants in walking distance, only twenty minutes from all the San Diego attractions (we had a fun afternoon at the Midway), I'm pretty sure this place is paradise. ##### Jason H. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Derek H. The house was very clean and very well kept. The front patio made for some great relaxing sunset views. The location wasn’t bad at all with small beaches being just steps from the house and included a nice walkway along the beach as well. A few restaurants were a 5-7 minute walk away and many major tourist attractions were 10-20 minutes away. The owner and other reviews were detailed to share that the garage is very narrow and not connected directly to the house. Not a big deal for us but good to know going into it. Also, the parking lot across the street had some people living in their vans who stayed there for the night, but they kept to themselves and we never felt unsafe with our one year old. Still, things to be aware of going into the booking. All in all, we loved the place. We would definitely stay again! We spent a lot of time looking at other houses/hotels and we’re grateful we found this one. For the price and amenities compared to other places we checked, my wife and I were very happy with the place! ##### Derek H. Sep 8, 2023 #### Restful, Charming, and So Much Fun Came here to say that we could not be happier with our stay at this charming beach house. It was spacious, had amazing out door spaces, and was so thoughtfully appointed that we never wanted to leave. The views from this house are incredible. So is falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. I think my son took the longest nap of his life while we were there. We took advantage of the gorgeous beach out front most days of our trip--made sand castles, dug for sand crabs, explored tide pools, and splashed in the surf. The fact that there is dedicated parking (in the cutest garage I have ever seen) made exploring the town of La Jolla and the rest of San Diego so easy. We couldn't believe how close we were to so many fun things and we never worried about finding parking upon our return--important when tired kids are part of the equation. The house had everything we needed. We discovered lots of restaurants, shops, and a market that has the most amazing dip in the universe--all within walking distance. La Jolla is a beautiful, eclectic town and exploring it is so much fun. This beach house is truly a gem. It exceeded all our expectations and we hope to come back very soon. Aug 4, 2023 #### A Breathtaking Escape! This property is a treasure, mindfully designed, with unobstructed views of the sea. At every turn, guests enjoy unmatched vistas and thoughtful details, from the large, modern kitchen which opens onto a charming outdoor dining space, to the preserved period details, the house and surprisingly large surrounding property was a space we didn't want to leave. We watched dolphins and seals amble by from the large front windows and took daily walks on Windansea Beach, which is literally steps away. Excellent shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance or a short drive to the village of La Jolla. We stayed with our young family, and the property was well set-up to accommodate our group. Throughout the house, the original art work of local award-winning artists James M Fisher is showcased; this is, as I understand it, the home where he grew up as a child, and he understands the light and textures of the sea there like no one else. I own several Fishers, and his seascapes in particular are unmatched. I inquired if any of the art in the house is available--it is, and at surprisingly reasonable rates. We will be coming back! For a magical escape that nourishes and restores both body and soul, surrounded by the beauty of nature, inspiring art, and charming architecture, I can't recommend Neptune enough. ##### Leona S. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Matthew O. Little did we know that the best place to be was LaJolla. Our VRBO was so delightful that we didn’t rush out each day. We lingered at our ocean view VRBO mornings and evenings.
