Winter in La Jolla on the beach. Sunny and 70 pretty much every day! Limited openings are now available in January and February. This is the best time of year in our town! Grand Neptune is a Mid-Century Modern architectural masterpiece, updated with modern amenities, curated for years by our family and now available for limited rental opportunities. Pictures do not do this home and the views from it justice. This is an extremely special retreat on one of the finest beaches in San Diego. This home features 2,700 square-feet of versatile floor space on two levels, with three bedrooms and three full baths. It is ideal for a multi-generational family or two to three couples travelling together. The main level of the home features two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The main level master suite comes complete with a walk in closet and a full en-suite bathroom, complete with separate shower and jetted tub. The second bedroom downstairs has a queen bed and is adjacent to a full bath with shower. The main level of the home also features the full gourmet kitchen, laundry, serene living area and a tv room, most with unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean. The upstairs master bedroom is separated from the main level of the home and is accessible though the home's intimate courtyard and up a small flight of stairs. This room, to put it simply, is stunning. Views of the Pacific are unobstructed, the en-suite bathroom is a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship. In short, words simply cannot adequately describe what a serene and beautiful retreat this is. With incomparable ocean views from the master bedroom and the living, dining and kitchen areas, guests can savor the natural beauty of La Jolla's Windansea Beach from just about every room in the house. Glass doors open to fabulous wood decks, just steps from the beach; and a private stone patio with an outdoor fire pit and a hydrotherapy hot tub grace the backyard. The state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with the finest appliances and gourmet details, suitable for entertaining a group or for preparing a quiet supper for two. In the late 1960s, famed Southern California architect Kendrick Bangs Kellogg designed this home in wood, glass and concrete, complementing the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Years later, San Diego's finest artisans, along with the talent of architect Yum Kee Fu, masterfully updated, renovated and decorated this amazing home into one of La Jolla's most luxurious homes. PLEASE NOTE: We are very sorry, but this home does not accommodate events, parties or weddings of any size. ADDITIONAL NOTE... Our neighbor property to the south is in the process of an extensive remodel. The project is now in the indoor finishing phase and is expected to be complete by summer, 2026\. Though we are mitigating the impact of this project on our home, kindly be aware that there may be some construction noises during your stay. We apologize for any inconvenience. If only the weather were better, but if 'trapped' inside, this was the home to do it. The home was well stocked and well located, the views incredible. I was very stressed out about it all and it was an exhausting weekend and this house could not have been a better place to come back to afterwards. It was so beautiful and relaxing, wonderful location right on a quiet beach. Every day I noticed something new about the house that I didn’t see before. My husband was absolutely in love and says he never wants to stay anywhere else. The hosts wore also wonderful and warm and gave us tons of great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Very comfortable with gorgeous views and a crazy amount of floor-to-ceiling glass walls, but without feeling like you're on display. The courtyard was beautiful... we used the hot tub and fire pit almost every night. The front deck has a picnic table and chairs, which were great for sitting and watching the sun set. There is a set of stairs down to the beach just across the street, super convenient. My only complaints are small... it's an older home, so it's harder to find an outlet when you need one. Would have been nice to have a charging block by the bed. Also, some towel racks would have been helpful, as the towels are so fluffy and the air so humid, they never really get dry. These are small nitpicks though. I would highly recommend. ##### Amanda D.
