DESCRIPTION
Beach chic meets contemporary elegance in this stunning oceanfront luxury vacation rental. Perched on a bluff overlooking the iconic Bird Rock (namesake of this coastal enclave) the home is perfectly sited to take advantage of the amazing and ever-changing ocean and coastal views.

Gated and private, this home was newly rebuilt in 2017 with attention to detail. Fully furnished and accessorized, everything has its place, and you will find thoughtful touches throughout including wires and outlets hidden from sight.

Single-level living is a breeze with no stairs to navigate and the home flows from one area to the next. Clean, white walls and surfaces, smooth finishes, a chef’s kitchen, and a lounge living room, combine to create a space that feels like a luxurious contemporary hotel that is warm and inviting at the same time. The home comes with 3 bedrooms and features 2 king bed master suites, with a spa-like soaking tub as a centerpiece. The oceanfront master is an amazing space with a fireplace, flat-screen TV, and convenience fridge with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open to the sea.

San Diego is known for its incredible weather, and Sea Glass is designed to take every advantage. The interior courtyard has space for an outdoor dining area leading to the entry breezeway complete with an oversized flat-screen TV and elongated glass-filled fireplace and a bubbling hot tub. Enter the home through a large single-pivot glass door, pass through the open floorplan and glass La Cantina doors to the highlight of the home, a property-wide waterfront terrace, complete with lounge seating, and an oceanfront fire pit. From here, you’ll enjoy the sights of the blue ocean, whitewater waves, and golden sunsets with the calming sounds of the surf breaking on the reefs beyond.

While located in a quiet residential neighborhood, it’s just a short walk to the shops, restaurants, wine bars, shops, and coffee houses in the Bird Rock neighborhood. It’s just a quick drive from the Village of La Jolla and many of the wide sandy beaches San Diego is famous for.

Loved this place...it is spectacular!

This place is designed to "WOW" and it does not disappoint! It is expensive, but totally worth it. Style and comfort merge with premium and luxury in this property. There was plenty of room for 6 adults in 3 bedrooms and 3 full, en suite baths. The additional half-bath was another welcome feature. If I had to summarize this experience in one word, it would be "premium." From design to space to surfaces to appliances to fixtures to furnishings, there is nothing lacking. Treat yourself, and enjoy!

I wanted to give them a 5 star review

The good: The house is beautiful and in a perfect location. It is recently remodeled and beautifully furnished. Check in is super easy and the management team was largely easy to reach. The bad: There are a few maintenance issues that I would not expect in a property of this price or quality. The spa was dirty, with sand and debris at the bottom and an odor to the water. I was told it was cleaned weekly but I am not sure this had been done (well) recently. I called the management team and they had someone clean it. There was a planned power outage during our stay of which we were not informed. We were in San Diego for a medical procedure and to not be able to adequately tend to my wife post-operatively due to a planned outage on the day of the surgery was unacceptable. Had I known about the outage I honestly would have cancelled. I told the team and they did offer us a small discount on our stay. The air conditioning went out during our stay. I left messages with the team which went unanswered. I finally texted a photo to the team of the interior temperature of the house (89 degrees) to which they ultimately did respond. They were unable to repair the unit and we went without air conditioning for 2 days of our stay. The maintenance crew said I could expect a call back from the manager and likely another discount on my stay. I was never called. I left messages for Amy but she never called me back.

Fun with Family

We visited one of our sons who lives in San Diego. He an other family joined us and this property was perfect for a long weekend. The house was spectacular and you absolutely cannot beat the location and views. The layout, fit and finishes were superb and it had everything we needed. They enjoyed the welcome package and the instructions for everything were so well written and organized. We would 100% recommend this property and definitely want to return again!!!

Perfection at bird rock

The house is beautiful! It is exactly as it’s portrayed on the website. In fact, it is even nicer than the pictures show. The view is to die for. You are sitting right on the water on a little cliff overlooking bird rock. Every morning you’re greeted with surfers, seals, and all manner of seabird. The deck is large, with two gas fire bowls that were used often at night. Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed that deck! The house is very very clean! It has been newly renovated, and everything is very upscale. The master bath is huge. We were there during pretty warm weather, at least for La Jolla. (80’s during the day). Probably the only complaint we had was that the small bedroom attached to the master did not have air conditioning that could keep up with the hot afternoon sun. But that was very minor and there was a fan you could use that helped a lot during the warm afternoon hours. The location is perfect. There are a number of restaurants and shops all within walking distance. However, the neighborhood itself is fairly quiet. When we return to La Jolla we would not hesitate to rent this house.

I cannot say enough great things about this house! The location is amazing. The house is beyond beautiful and having the water right in front of you never gets old. Waking up and seeing the seals right out front was lovely. There was ample room for our multigenerational family stay. And at night the house transforms with the firepits and fireplaces into a haven for us to be able to unwind and enjoy the sounds of the ocean. Thank you to Bluewater for the ease of check in and out and always being responsive to our needs. You will not regret staying here in fact you may not want to leave.

A Remarkable Five Days

Most would consider us experienced and seasoned VRBOr's. We know what to look for in reviews that can give a heads up to other travelers about potential undesirable issues. The pictures for this home are accurate and non deceptive. It is spacious, clean and location, location, location. You will wake up every morning to surfers, seals and, every now and then, dolphins. Everything you can think of for your stay is provided, and if there is something missing, the management company will have it there within 90 minutes. You are two houses down from stairs that lead you to the ocean and a couple of blocks away from delicious restaurants. We are business owners, so workcation is how we always travel; the home is equipped with high speed internet that provided no hiccups. For downtime, there are many TV's, however figuring out how to get basic channels required a lot energy we simply didn't have. In closing, for this price point, this home is ideal.

Amazing property

The pictures don’t do this house justice. It’s an amazing view. The house is modern, clean, and well-stocked. I just sat and watched the surfers, waves, and birds. It was so relaxing. I would definitely go back. I couldn’t figure out the fire pit and blue water sent maintenance guy. He was super helpful.

Well stocked kitchen, view could not be more beautiful and soo peaceful. We did have some maintenance issues but staff took care of every issue as fast as they could. I did ask for a bit of a refund as lots of the issues were in my main bedroom…and i didn’t have access to the room a couple times because they were doing repairs. They cheerfully gave me my refund.
