"We recently stayed 3 weeks at El Marques Palace in a 1 bedroom sea view unit. Everything was great and the view from our balcony was spectacular. Front desk staff were always helpful and even gave us more clothes hangers when we asked. While the terrain is hilly, there are many restaurants and bars within walking distance and a grocery store across the street. The pool bar also had excellent food and great service. Would highly recommend."

"The food was excellent; better than we expected for sure. Unbeatable location in terms of relaxing views! Great gym as well with almost all new equipment and good variety. Lovely spa with fantastic service. We had a couple of very windy nights - I would recommend bringing ear plugs for sleeping since the balcony sun-covers and curtains on each room can really rattle around. The bed was also far too soft for our preference but I realise that's quite personal. Overall an amazing stay and would definitely come again! "

"We stayed in one of the renovated, luxury apartments. They were finished to a high standard, and have a large outside terrace with jacuzzi and a great view on the sea. The beds were very comfortable. There were two bathrooms, which makes the apartment very convenient for friends."

"The room was spacious and clean, but 'tired', the wasbasin was chipped and the sofa was torn. The main issue was with the dining experience, the 'restarant' reminded us of a 1980's Eastern European eatery! The staff were constantly noisily laying tables for the next meal, often removing our half eaten meal if we left the table to get a drink. The tables were far too close together and in regimented rows like in a canteen, and the food was generally of poor quality. I am happy to say in over 60 years living in England, i have never had an English sausage like the one in was served at breakfast today! There was no coffee or tea available except at breakfast time, and for those of us who enjoy cheese and biscuits with a glass of wine after a meal, cream crackers and grated'mouse trap' cheese is a poor substitute. The dining experience is not what we would expect from a 4 star establishment."

"We were looking forward to staying for 5 nights in the quiet valley of Hermigua but found the hotel to be very noisy with poor soundproofing between rooms. We had a room next to family with young children who screamed the place down so much we asked to move rooms but the noise carried throughout the building as well as other guests meeting in bedrooms chatting till late so not a restful stay. One of the few hotels I was glad to leave and sorry we’d booked. It’s sad as the place looks ok from the outside. "
