I think we were spoilt with our other apartments in other locations around Japan that were quite spacious. I didn’t like that the toilet was in the bathroom, purely from a smells point of view. And if someone woke up early to shower, it sounded like they were showering with the door open as it was super loud. Would be great if the door was solid or had some soundproofing done. It was a bit of a hike to the nearest station but we knew this when we booked. Rooms are spacious, clean and they provide all you need. They offer bikes for rent to ride around Kyoto, staff is friendly and generous. The hotel is new and well cared. great shape. The location is great too, a few block away for the subway and the Imperial Castle which has beautiful gardens to walk around. Very quiet neighborhood in a residential area. Cool boutique cafes and local restaurants but options are limited. I would advise tall people to be open to the showers as the ceiling is very low. Nice receptionists! I think this is a family business. They speak English, Japanese and Chinese. The rooms are clean. But it is a bit far from the station, the closest being 9\~15 minutes away depending how the speed of how you walk, so thats one down side. But everything else is perfect!
