The host was lovely. She tried her best to talk to us in English. The room we had was enough for three persons, though we would have liked to have more space to open our luggages. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless. Our stay was comfortable. Located about 20 minute walk from the Kyoto station (if you know how to find it - I strongly suggest you take the taxi the first time, it is about 800 Yen; after that you will know: between the second and the third street up from Gojo dori, fifth street on the left). The room was clean, well, service fantastic, and you have access to a small kitchen next to the reception desk. Getting attention of the owner is easy, just press the button on the intercom at the entrance; she lives next to this house. Nice coffee shops, Japanese and European style for breakfast (400 - 700 Yen) and convenience stores open seemingly all the time, including Sundays.
