However the room was on the 3rd floor and we had to climb 2 flights of rather narrow stairs. Also, there was no on-suite bath. Our room was basic - 6 tatamis, 2 futons and a tv but it suited our needs. The toilet was on the same floor as our room and always clean while the shower was shared and located on the first floor but always clean as well. The location was convenient, just a 5 min walk from Kyoto station and across a family mart. For the amount of guests shared bathrooms were never an issue. Halls were hot during record heat week, but rooms stayed cool with the A/C units. Staff offered us a ride one hot morning when we had our longest morning walk of the trip. Very walkable and near the Kyoto Tower.
