Perfect location and easy access to parking, you get the feel of local living with a bamboo forests in the backyard. Kyoshihelped us get there when customs took too long and we had a later than planned check in. We did have to walk a lot but it was entertaining to explore the beautiful neighborhood. We were welcomed into a small shrine by a sweet woman. Japanese artwork around the house added to the experience and gave it the feeling of a real traditional home. The host greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour, using his phone to translate. The only drawback was that the nearby bus to Takeda station comes around once every hour. Overall, excellent for a stay if you plan public transport carefully in advance. ##### Muhammed A. I met our host, who is very nice. My husband was going to walk down to a Lawson’s convenient store, about a 3/4 mile walk. Our host not only gave him a ride (to a closer Lawson’s), but also bought our groceries for us!!! I can’t express enough how touched and grateful we for his generosity. He also expressed that he wanted us to enjoy Japan as much as possible. We have stayed at many Vrbos and never have we had such a wonderful host. Apr 18, 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Great house in a nice neighborhood The house is spacious by Japanese standards, it has more than enough beds for our whole family. It has nice Japanese-style furniture and decorations that we really enjoyed. The surrounding bamboo patches are gorgeous. Kitchen utensils are in good condition and we enjoyed cooking our own meals. The only downside is it's a bit far from the train station and there's no direct bus between the train station to this house. It's an easy walk from the train station if you don't have heavy luggage. It's difficult to find a cab service in Kyoto if you don't have a local phone and can't speak Japanese. Grocery stores are a bit far too but there are bus lines between grocery stores to the house. Overall we enjoyed this house very much and will stay here again in the future, now that we know how to navigate. ##### Michael W.
