A major plus. Negative is the hotel is quite dated, room space very limited, very slow air conditioning, and very limited storage space in the room. Pretty close to Kumamoto castle. The room was a bit dirty and there was a little bit of mold in the bathroom, but not enough to hurt anyone. The whole hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. First night found out aircon blowing hot air. Had to open the window for ventilation but then had to suffer the traffic noise. The spring bed mattress was uncomfortable and noisy. Next morning saw housekeeping left a pile of fresh towel and bedsheets etc on the carpet floor outside every room door. Second night the shower hose broke. Close to shopping mall and street so plenty of restaurants and shops. The room itself was too small for our luggage. Additionally, it was quite dirty for a hotel. The curtain in the bathroom was MOLDY and the toilet was stained. There was housekeeping but they somehow didn’t clean the bathroom except refilling amenities. Honestly quite disappointing for a 3-star hotel.
