One of the best locations in sunny Poipu Beach Kauai, Nihi Kai Villas Resort is just steps away from the Poipu shoreline and a little over 300 yards to world-famous body surfing Brennecke’s Beach and Poipu Beach Park. The plantation style architecture at this small island oasis by the sea is surrounded by swaying palms, tropical flowers, fruit trees, orchids, and mature plumeria trees accented by well manicured lawns.

PARRISH PROFESSIONAL CLEAN – Built Upon the Vacation Rental Management Association (VRMA) “Safe Home” cleaning program, we further expanded our existing high standard of housekeeping at our properties where hospital-grade cleaning products and protocols were already in use. Very good location and service; some updating would be helpful

Overall rating as excellent. The overall property complex is beautiful and well-kept, with very nice amenities like the pool, BBQs, and tennis/pickleball courts. Parking was easy and we never had a problem finding a space. We were super happy with the proximity to Bernecke Beach (boogie-boarding waves) and Poipu Beach (swimming/snorkeling/turtles) - can't get much closer for an easy walk. Hose-off area by pool when returning from beach was super helpful and nice (and often led to us taking a dip in the pool as well). Staff was friendly and helpful; beach chairs/some boogie boards were provided at our unit and we were able to request some other equipment. Only comment that almost dropped a star for us was that our unit was a bit on the dated side. Overall nothing major, but there were some definite inconveniences like screen doors not being able to be locked (or falling off - which is problematic when relying on openness/breeze for cooling) and a fairly dated and underequipped kitchen (we were saving disposable utensils from eating out to have enough back at the unit). Would also be nice if they'd provide a drying rack or something to have on the patio since (understandably) don't want items hung over the balcony rails. All in all will definitely look to stay here again if/when we come back to Kauai - and just hope perhaps they do a little updating/restocking on units like this in the meantime.

We had a great stay at the property. It was hot, so the no air conditioning was a but tough, but we did know about that aheas if time, so it is what it is. The inside is quite a bit dated, with very faded, slightly weird textured carpet, but was very clean despite this. Having a washer and dryer was very convenient. So was having a door from one of the on-suite bathrooms that lead to the hallway so our sister who was staying on the couch bed uostairs could access the bathroom without entering our room in the night.

My family and I had a wonderful time! Perfect location and a quick walk to poipu beach to watch the turtles and monk seals. The place was spacious and had everything we needed for our 2 week stay. It was clean, kitchen is well stocked, had 6 beach towels, a large cooler and 4 beach chairs. The washer and dryer came in handy (needs the vent cleaned) We were in Kauai when there was some flooding and the electricity went out. One of the fans stopped working in the master bedrooms and we let the management team know. They came right over and tried to fix the issue, but was unable. So thank goodness for the extra fans in the closets so we could sleep comfortably. They also fixed a few outlets while they were there. Everyone we met on the property were so nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this rental and hope to visit again!

Nice condominium rental. Two bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs and kitchen + common area upstairs. Kitchen stocked with adequate dishes, utensils, pots, pans, etc. Fans in each room. My Stay

Condo is close to beach. It has a charm that takes me back to my childhood. I'm hoping the ceiling fan/light has been fixed. It would come on at all times of the night; very difficult to live with. Took days to figure out how to disconnect and not use. I didn't want to disturb my stay with repairs, so reported after. The place has everything you need (except for an umbrella; which is apparently dangerous because of the wind). Lovely showers. Bed was comfy. I'd stay again; even with the faulty ceiling fan!

Condo was clean, all typical kitchen utensils available, bedding etc. I only wish, after a 4,000+ mile flight over 11 hrs, we had a road map to show exactly where the condo was located. We were within 1/4 mile of the condo and the written directions didn't appear to match the various roads in the dark. Other than that, the property management were very responsive to our issues (washing machine needed to be repaired while we were there).

Unit needed too many fixes during our stay

We booked this a couple of months ago for 10 days. We arrived and found a notice on our stove/oven that said not to use and "sorry for the inconvenience." Went to management who was surprised to learn that stove/oven didn't work. That was the first of many repairs. The refridgerator was still leaking inside after several complaints. Dishwasher was not attached under the counter and would come out (tip over)if you pulled the upper and lower racks out. There was a bathtub that leaked. The front door wouldn't lock. Spent too many days complaining to management about things that somebody should have fixed before we had arrived.

Very clear and easy check in instructions. The condo was very clean and had all the amenities. The condo is not very new but is well maintained. The bedrooms and washrooms are in the lower level which was not clear in the booking. Pool was clean and very refreshing. We also used the tennis courts.. Overall very pleasant stay.

Great Stay

We had a lovely week long stay in unit 503. The location was great. We walked to Poipu Beach every day and saw the turtles and monk seals resting on the beach. The swimming was best at the beach in front of the Marriott which was also walking distance. The unit itself is a bit dated but functional. The carpet could stand to be replaced. The unit is one flight up with the living and kitchen area on that level. The bedrooms and both bathrooms are down another flight of stairs (on the ground level). Lots of stairs may be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. The photos are accurate. Small view of the ocean above the neighboring rooftops. We could hear the waves crashing. Pool area was very nice. We had the pool mostly to ourselves. Nice view of the ocean from the lounge chairs. Unit came equipped with several beach chairs, beach umbrella, coolers, tennis racquets, beach towels. Great communication with our hosts. Clear check in/out instructions. Friendly staff. This unit has no A/C (which we were aware of) so we utilized the fans provided. Overall great stay. We would stay here again.

I loved every part of this experience from booking to check out. Communication was stellar. Our condo was exactly as advertised. The kitchen was fully stocked. The location and view were ideal. We loved walking over to Poipu beach every morning and evening. The complex is nicely landscaped and maintained. We also used the pool several times. The view of the ocean from the pool was very nice. We would definitely want to stay here next time we come. Probably the best short term rental experience we’ve had on the island and we come at least two times a year.

Comfortable and great location

This is going to be our longest stay on Kauai to date. We choose different locations around Kauai so that we don’t have to drive excessively to enjoy each part of the island. This property fit us perfectly. We were close to our favorite south side restaurants (the Beach House, Brenneckes, etc) and one of our favorite coffee stops (Little Fish). The beach was a short walk away to view the amazing sunsets. We even got to see whales breaching and sea turtles as we walked along the shore!

Close to the beach!

We were pleasantly surprised to find out that this property was so close to all the fun beaches in Poipu. The pool also had an ocean view. This was a great place to stay if you want to be close to the beach.
